DELEGATION OF PROFESSORS FROM AFGHANISTAN VISITS IIUI NEW CAMPUS

An Afghan delegation comprising (30) under training Afghan Professors visited International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) New Campus on Tuesday. The delegation was accompanied by senior faculty members from National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Associate Professor Dr. Aqab Malik, Centre for International Peace and Stability, CIPS and IIUI Alumni, Dr. Bakarae Najmudin, Associate Professor, CIPS, (NUST).

Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President, (Academics), IIUI welcomed the delegates at Administration Block, New Campus. On this occasion, Dr. Zahid, Deputy Director (Academics & Examination) and Mr. Muhammad Nauman, Assistant Director (Media), IIUI were also present during the meeting.

Vice President (Academic) Dr. Ayaz briefed about the university in detail in the Council Hall where Afghan Students also joined the delegation during the briefing session. During the meeting with the delegation, Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar briefed about the vision of the President, IIUI for acquiring academic excellence at international level and said that a large number of students from Afghanistan have acquired education at IIUI in different disciplines while, after completing education from IIUI most of the students are serving in Afghanistan, Pakistan and across the globe at mentionable positions.

Dr. Ayaz also briefed the delegation about the linkages of the university and told that internationalization is one of the core objectives of this university and strongly encourages bilateral cooperation with all the educational institutions of the world.

On the occasion, VP (Academics) also briefed the delegation about academic programs, research contributions, presence of foreign faculty members and foreign students studying at the campus having diverse cultures.

Later, the delegation was accompanied by Dr. Zahid, Deputy Director (Academics & Examination) and visited Centre for Advanced Electronics & Photovoltaic Engineering (CAEPE) labradorite and Salman Aba-Alkhail, Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Science (SA-CIRBS) of Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences (FBAS) at Alfarabi Center, IIUI and Central Library. The delegation was briefed here by Dr. Ikram Ullah, Incharge (SA-CIRBS), Mr. Shoaib Alam, focal person (CAEPE) and at library by Senior Librarian, Mr. Aamir.

The Afghan delegation thanked for warm welcoming them at the campus and wished for strengthening the educational relations among both nations.
