FEMALE CAMPUS HOLDS SPORTS COMPETITION IN CONNECTION WITH INDEPENDENCE DAY

In connection with the 75th Independence Day, sports activities were held at the Female Campus (FC) of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). The event was organized by the Sports office and the female campus organized sports competitions under the supervision of Students’ Advisor. The event was held in the gymnasium female campus that was aimed at  building a sense of teamwork and unity among the players.

Chief Guest of the event Dr. Samina Malik (Vice President, F.C) joined the ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners. Dr. Sumayya Chughtai (Students’ Advisor F.C), Dr. Humaira Ishfaq (Provost F.C) also attended this event showing support and encouraging the young girls and female employees.  Asst Director (Sports) Ms. Nadia Mukhtar and the officials Ms. Sana Gul and Ms. Ayesha Rashid were also present on the occasion.

The first event of the day was a tug of war competition held between two teams consisting of female Janitors from the university’s admin and female Janitors from the hostel. The second event was a basketball match between the students of the female hostel and day scholars. The students and employees alike showed much enthusiasm in participating. Female admin employees won the tug of war competition and the day scholar team won the basketball competition.

The competitions proved to be very exciting as the players cheered for their supported sides for the tug of war and actively participated in the basketball match afterwards.

Dr. Samina Malik hailed the efforts of the Students Advisor office and Sports Office and termed this activity as a  constructive effort.

At the end of the event, Dr. Sumayya Chughtai (Students’ Advisor F.C) showed much appreciation towards the sports office for supervising and arranging an event in celebration of 14th August and distributed prizes to the winners and runner ups of the 75th Independence Day Sports Competition.
