MUSHAIRA IN CONNECTION WITH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION HELD AT IIUI

Department of Urdu of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a Mushaira at female campus in connection with the Independence Day celebration.

It was attended by famous female poets of the country.
Ms. Ayesha Masood Malik presided over the Mushaira while Ms. Parveen Tahir was the chief guest. Ms. Abida Taqi was the moderator.

All the female poets presented their fresh poetry in accordance with the Independence Day and the current situation of the country. Through their poetry, the poets paid tribute to the ancestors for their sacrifices and urged the present generation to follow their footsteps. The female poets not only recited poems highlighting the importance of the country but they also recited their famous poetry on the insistence of the audience.
On this occasion, on the request of President of Mushaira, Dean of Language and Literature Prof. Dr. Najiba Arif also presented one of her poems.

Earlier, the in-charge of Urdu Department (Women) Dr. Saira Batool welcomed all the poets and the audience of the mushaira on behalf of the International Islamic University and emphasized the importance of Independence Day and termed it as a sign of living nations. At the end, Prof. Dr. Najiba Arif appreciated the words of all the poets and thanked them for participation. He also appreciated the department of Urdu, especially the organizers of the Mushaira for the successful organization of the Mushaira.
