BS ACCOUNTING & FINANCE

Introduction
In the wake of globalization, economic integration and competition, only those individuals can hold positions of responsibility who have the capacity to analyze complex problems and make intelligent decisions. The BS- Accounting &Finance program helps students to think logically and improve their ability to use financial concepts to analyze “real world” problems and opportunities. This is a unique program that emphasizes qualitative and quantitative approach to dealing with financial problems in both the public and private sector. Furthermore, this program will provide a sound foundation to be successful in the rapidly evolving, global business and financial environment. The course work also prepares students to pursue further certification from well known professional local/ international organizations.

This Program will be offered by Department of Accounting & Finance, Faculty of Management Sciences. It is a four-year honors degree in Accounting and Finance which provides the insights needed to be successful in financial accounting, managerial accounting, budgeting, accounting systems, internal controls, financial analysis, financial reporting, internal and external auditing, taxation and other accounting related issues.

Our graduates stand out with exemptions from professional accounting and finance bodies to get professional accounting degree as well. Program Objective Program Outcomes
To gain a focused understanding of finance and accounting functions in a business. Inculcate practical decision‐making skills based on financial and accounting frameworks.   Graduates will be able to work in different professional environments by applying their strong project management skills.We expect students to engage with both theory and practice, and to develop a critical understanding of how Accounting and Finance operate in a range of different institutional settings.
Strongly emphasizing the development of analytical skills, the courses offer solid grounding and professional competencies in all aspects of accounting and finance required for careers in numerous sectors. This Program covers not only in-depth courses relating to accounting and finance, but also focuses on other relevant courses such as business research methods, business communication and management ethics. Provide a pathway to professional certifications (CA, ACCA and CFA).Foster in students a critical and flexible approach to accounting and finance issues, within local and international context
