International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has been ranked as 301-350 in QS Asian University Rankings 2022.
The IIUI, through Directorate of Quality Assurance and Development (QAD) participated in the the rankings and also improved its position from 70% Universities to world’s top 43% across the globe for year 2022.
IIUI previously was ranked in 351- 400 category, while this time it improved its position being ranked among 301-350 best universities of Asia in QS rankings.
For 2022 rankings, as many as 46 Pakistani universities were ranked, among those, IIUI stood on 13th position.
In previous months, the university has been witnessed to improve its rankings by various international ranking agencies in various categories.
The recent positive results generated by IIUI are outcome of continued reforms and initiatives introduced by the university management that includes preparation of university’s new strategic plan that also helped in gleaning exact view of the university accomplishments on scientific basis.
The university leadership believes that upcoming ranking will be much positive as new reforms and initiatives have entered into the mature stages through various steps taken such as implementation of the university’s strategic plan. The university is now all set and in better position to submit its accomplishments and achievements with an approach of quantifiable analysis that will lead to improved and realistic university rankings in future. The university has also started a comprehensive work on research and enterprise that shall also be helpful in improved ranking through linkage with industry, acceptance of international funded projects, collaborations in research and global engagements.
Commenting on the ranking, IIUI Rector, Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai said that IIUI is heading towards right direction and it is all set to achieve its goals of academic excellence and true internationalization.
He urged that universities must come forward to serve the society “We will not disappoint the nation, we will come forward with positive developments soon in the field of academic excellence and quality higher education” said Masoom Dr Yasinzai.
IIUI President, Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, expressing gratitude for the achievement said that university after special efforts has started to shine among the leading institutions and it will be soon among leading ranks of the globally recognized educational institutions. He congratulated the academic and administrative staff of the institution and hoped that they would remain committed to the university in the future by continuing their hard work so that the institution gets the top slot in all world rankings in the future. He said that this ranking is a sign of a new dawn of success for IIUI.
It is pertinent to mention here the IIUI is the 3rd largest public sector university across Pakistan that has presence of more than 30,000 students on campus in separate male and female campuses with almost equal gender ratio.
The university, earlier improved its ranking globally by 200 places and it has been ranked in top 601-800 universities across the world by Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In addition, IIUI has also been placed in Top 200 Universities in the Times Higher Education Emerging Economies Universities Ranking 2022 as well.
