IIU PRESIDENT CHAIRS MEETING OF DIRECTORATE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION’S CORE COMMITTEE

H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Al-Otaibi, President, International Islamic University (IIU) on Friday chaired a meeting of the Core Committee of Directorate of Distance Education held at Faisal Masjid Campus.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. N.B. Jumani, Vice President (Administration, Finance and Planning), Dr. Asma Mansoor, Dr. Summiya Chughtai, Dr. M. Zafar Iqbal, Dr. Mehrosh Khalid,  Incharge IT Saleem Shehzad, Adv. Iftikhar Ahmed Bashir, Dr. Fouzia Ajmal, Dr. Muddasir Ahmed and Mr. Ihsan.

The committee discussed course review and development progress, guidelines for the presentations by teachers, digital marketing, web portal development, admission and examination policy, intellectual property rights and studio development.

Chair was briefed on the abovementioned pointes in detail, while the IIU President desired that tasks assigned to the teams and individuals must be completed in time and efforts for early completion must be expedited.

The Worthy President appreciated the efforts and preparation of the committee and assured of full support.

Dr. Hathal said that university is committed to working hard for delivering quality education and producing knowledge in line with the aspiration of Muslim world. He said that online education is the need of the hour. Referring to the global pandemic, IIUI President said that the importance of online education has become more salient. He said universities must focus on the use of modern techniques of teaching and learning through distance education. The IIU President maintained that universities must develop detailed policies and they should also adopt innovative solutions. He also emphasized that faculty must remain updated to the advancements of the technology. He assured that new and innovative ideas and suggestions for improvements in this regard will be appreciated.
