International Islamic University (IIU) football team, after defeating University of Engineering and Technology (UET), has advanced to quarter finals in the regional stage of the national football competition organized by Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The IIUI team will play against FAST in the Quarter Finals. The IIU team is being captained by Yawar Ali, while Abdul Rehman who is a Nigerian alumni of IIU is coaching the team. The IIU team has 2 international students hailing from Nigeria and Somalia who are part of the squad as well.
There are total 36 teams of various universities playing in the regional level from the areas of AJK, GB, twin cities and taxila.
The Head Coach and Sports Incharge Khalid Chaudhri hoping to win the title, said that the team is working hard and morale is high.
