The Department of Media and Communication Studies (DMCS) at International Islamic University Islamabad got its maiden P.hD holder as Haseeb ur Rehman defended his dissertation here at the new campus in final Viva Voce examination.
The research scholar completed his work under supervision of Dr. Shabir Hussain. The topic of thesis is ” Analysis of elite press during war and peace times between India and Pakistan: A peace journalism perspective.
This academic activity was attended by Prof.Dr.Mughees ud Din sheikh, Dean university of management and technology and Prof.Dr Saqib Riaz Head of Department of Media Sciences at AIOU as external examiners , while Dr.Zafar Iqbal Head of Department Media and Communication Studies was internal examiner who also thanked the participants and termed this achievement as an important milestone in pursuance of the future goals of the department. Dr. Haseeb ur Rehman also thanked his parents and teachers for support, help and encouragement and added that he was overwhelmed being the first P.hD at the department.
