DR MASOOM YASINZAI APPOINTED IIUI RECTOR

Professor Dr Masoom Yasinzai has been appointed as Rector International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) while a wave of happiness was witnessed Friday amid celebrations on the appointment of Dr Masoom Yasinzai as top IIUI officials and employees felicitated him and termed his appointment as a vital development for the progress of university.

President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi gave approval for the appointment of Professor Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, for the period of 4 years.

Professor Yasinzai who joined his duties at new campus of the university on Friday is renowned international scientist who has also served as Vice Chancellor Baluchistan University and VC Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad. He had his primary education from Kuchlak, a suburb of Quetta and his research and academic activities date back to 1980 when he started teaching at the University of Baluchistan. He is also known for his administrative and academic contributions in many universities while he has played vital role in launching civil engineering program and Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences at IIUI with his personal efforts. In recognition of his services in science and technology, he was awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz, while he was also awarded Aizaz e Fazeelat by President of Pakistan.

IIUI President and rest of the university officials have shown profound pleasure on appointment of Dr. Masoom Yasinzai and they have termed this progress meaningful, while saying it would help to take practical steps regarding long term policies.
