mpus International Islamic University Islamabad organized a seminar on “الوقف في القرآن باعتبار المعنى ”, “Waqf During Recitation of Quran in Accordance with the Meanings of Quran”. The seminar was attended by the teachers and students of different departments of the campus.
Dr Taj Afsar Head Department of Tafseer and Quranic Sciences was the guest speaker. In his lecture on the topic, Dr. Taj emphasized on the importance of Waqfs and described is with reference to rules and grammatical explanation saying that as every language has some rules and regulations which define its correct mode of communication in reading, writing and speaking.
He further added that the divine language of the Holy Quran has its own principles and there are specific rules and regulations which every reader has to take in consideration while reciting to get real meaning and its true sense. Dr. Taj was of the view that the pauses and waqf during recitation have its impact on understanding of the meanings which stresses to be followed in this regard.
