EDUCATION A WAY TO COUNTER TERRORISM, SAYS DR. AL-DRAIWEESH

Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Wednesday called upon the educational institutions to nurture the young minds with a blend of Islam’s teachings of peace.

“Attack on Bacha Khan University, Charsadda is a worst form of terrorism and carnage has saddened the hearts of world” he said while addressing the second meeting of meeting of Board of Advanced Studies and research (BASR).

He said that terrorism has engulfed the world and incidents such as Bacha Khan University demand that a framework to convey the future generation to counter the menace of terrorism with education. Dr. Al-Draiweesh prayed for the departed souls of Bacha Khan University carnage and expressed sympathies with families of those who have lost their lives.

“Teachers are the source who can elaborate the bitter aftermaths of terrorism to the students and young minds must be educated to discourage the violent attitudes” the IIUI President maintained.

The meeting discussed theses of the scholars of varsity’s different faculties and experts gave suggestions for further improvements in the ongoing research work. The meeting was also attended by the Vice Presidents of the university as well as Deans, Directors and other high officials.
