FACULTY OF USULUDDIN HOLDS WORKSHOP ON SCOPE OF RESEARCH

002The Faculty of Usuluddin (Islamic Studies) Female campus conducted a two day workshop titled “Defining the Scope of Research in the Paradigm of Islamic Studies.

 The workshop was meant to cater the pressing needs of faculty members and research students who showed an engaging participation in all four sessions.

The speakers of the workshop emphasized on the social, cultural and economic impacts of academic research. The was of the view that the question of bridging the gaps and integration of knowledge in the discipline of Islamic Studies has become substantially sizeable and in order to meet its needs the researchers are supposed to equip themselves accordingly.

Professor Dr. Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor Ripah International University, in his keynote address emphasized on the need of introducing comprehensive reforms for the treatment of gaps in various methodologies.

The core concepts taken into consideration include, combining the traditional vis-à-vis modern approaches of research in various disciplines of Islamic Studies keeping in consideration the prospects of research in general and the core vision of IIUI in particular, contextualizing research that gets along the geo-political, socio-religious and strategic situation of Pakistan in specific and Muslim world at large, issues of plagiarism and intellectual property pertaining to Islamic Studies, innovative ideas for individual and project based research and facilitation of process of publication.

Speakers who delivered lectures in the various sessions of the workshop include Dr. Anis Ahmad, Dr. Safeer Akhtar, Dr. Imtiyaz Zafar, Dr. Husnul Amin, Dr.Muhammad Akram, Dr. Aziz ur Rehman, , Dr. Nabil al Fouly, Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Dr. Mubasher Hussain, Dr. Tanvir Ahmad, Sher Nouroz Khan and Syed Mateen Ahmad.
