Postdoctoral Fellows across Pakistan at Islamic Research Institute (IRI) had scholarly debates and discussions on the issues such as wrong concept of religiosity, ethics of disagreement and role of researchers in reconstruction of Pakistani society, were discussed.
Islamic Research Institute organized online com physical participation 4th and final workshop for the 2nd batch of IRI Postdoctoral Fellows. This activity was held in continuation of efforts for narrative building and advancing research on challenges faced by Pakistani society
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq, Director General, IRI. During workshop Postdoctoral fellows presented their research projects on the current issues that are faced in Pakistani society. These projects include Increasing Trends of Takfeeri ideology in Pakistani, Violation of hildren rights, effects of social media on youth, crimes against the week segments of the society.
Some of research projects were related to suggest framework for eradication of radicalism, sectarianism and hate speech in Pakistani society.
The key resource persons of the workshop were Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khalid Masud, Judge, Shariat Appellate Bench, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General, IRI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail Hashmi, Former Dean, Faculty of Arabic, Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Saeed ur Rehman, Former Chairman, Department of Islamic Studies, BZU, Multan, Prof. Dr. Abdul Quddus Sohaib, Chairman, Department of Islamic Studies, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Munir, Head, Department of Qur’anic Studies, IRI.
The concluding ceremony of 4th and final workshop was chaired by Director General, Islamic Research Institute. He congratulated all postdoctoral fellows on successful completion of the workshop at the end of the ceremony; certificates were distributed among the postdoctoral fellows.
