MOTHER OF PRESIDENT IIUI PASSES AWAY

Mother of Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University (IIU) passed away in Saudi Arabia after protracted illness.
She breathed her last in Al-Zulfi (city of Saudi Arabia). Her funeral prayers in absentia were offered in new campus and Faisal Masjid campus of university after Jumma prayer. Acting President IIU Dr. Mohammad Bashir Khan, Director General Administration IIU Gulzar Ahmed Khwaja and large number of academicians, administrative officers, staff and students offered funeral prayers in absentia.
Rector IIUI Dr Masoom Yasinzai and other high ups of university have expressed grief and sorrow over the death of President IIUI’s mother. In his message, Dr Masoom has said university stands with family of Dr. Al-Draiweesh in this hour of grief. Dr. Bashir Khan, while expressing grief over sad demise prayed for eternal peace of departed soul.

 

ALI TARIQ OF IRD TO REPRESENT PAKISTAN AT CAMBRIDGE

Ali Tariq, consultant, editor at Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has been selected for Interfaith Programme Summer School 2015 at University of Cambridge, UK, where he will represent Pakistan.

Ali Tariq is the only researcher from Pakistan who will be among an international group of emerging religious leaders from Muslim, Christian, and Jewish backgrounds. These fellow students will come from across the world, including a group of participants from the Sultanate of Oman, a key supporter of the programme, as well as students from Indonesia, Yemen, Nigeria, Palestine, Sweden, Singapore and the UK. The program will commence from July29 and end on August 14 of this year.

The Summer School is an intensive period of immersion in inter-faith and cross-cultural encounter, with a focus on practical peace-making and conflict-transformation. It will explore some of the resources that each tradition offers for peaceful and serious engagement with the others, and look for the forms of coexistence and friendship that are possible between traditions that remain distinct and different.

PRESIDENT IIUI HOSTS IFTAR DINNERS AT HOSTELS

Prof Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh President International Islamic University, Islamabad hosted Iftar Dinners separately in which more than two hundred students and staff including security guards attended. Dr. Bashir Khan Acting President was chief guest on Iftar Dinners while Dean Faculty of Shariah & Law Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hakeem, Students’ Advisor Male Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood, Head IIUI Alumni Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar, Dr. Fazal-e-Rabi Mumtaz, Additional Director P&PR D.K Hairan Khattak also attended the Iftar Dinners.

On the occasion, Dr. Bashir Khan addressed the participants in which he highlighted the piousness, respect and sanctity of the Ramzan ul Mubarik. ”Allah offers us salvation of our ill deeds and sins in the shape of Ramazan; we must obey and follow the lines of Quran and Sunnah for this purpose. Dr. Bashir said. Acting President also expressed his immense pleasure that Ramazan offers us such gathering of students and staff that strengthens unity and brotherhood which is the core message of Islam. Dr. Anwar made pray to Allah for the promotion of university, Pakistan and Muslim Ummah.

 

QUR’AN KHWANI & DUA HELD AT LIBRARY

Qur’an Khwani and Dua for the departed colleagues and relatives of the library staff was arranged in the Central Library of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).

The library staff and some employees of the university participated in Qur’an Khwani and Dua and prayed to Almighty Allah for granting eternal peace to the souls of deceased employees and relatives of the library staff.

IIUI EXTENDS ADMISSION DATE TILL JULY 17

The admission date in International Islamic University Islamabad has been extended till Friday 17th of July. Admission process at university is in full swing and a great rush of applicants has been witnessed in couple of days.

In view of Ramzan ul Mubarik, university administration decided to extend the admission form submission date to facilitate and accommodate maximum students, as the long queues of students to submit admission form reported.

It’s worth mentioning that IIUI offering more than 100 academic programs of its 9 faculty departments. Information regarding eligibility in any program or any other additional information is available at the university website www.iiu.edu.pk.

Candidates awaiting result may also apply, however they are required to submit an undertaking that they will submit overall pass result of required degree/certificate as respective result declared.

PRESIDENT IIUI MEETS WITH DIGNITRIES AT MAKKAH SAUDI ARABIA

Prof Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh in his stay at Makkah, Saudi Arabia met with dignitaries and high officials including Ex. Rector, Islamic University Madeenah Munawara Saudi Arabia and Dr. Aadil Ahmed Salim Banaema, Dean Institute of Teaching of Arabic Language, University of Ummul Quraa Makkah Saudi Aribia aimed discussed mutual interests.

President IIUI was accompanied with Dr. Abdul Qadir and Legal Advisor IIUI Mr. Rehanuddin. In a meeting, Dr. Al-Draiweesh apprised Dr. Al-Aqla about IIUI, its faculty departments where thousands of students from across the world are being nurtured by qualified teachers and renowned scholars in lines with Islamic teachings. President IIUI also threw the light on IIUI recent achievements, up-coming purposed projects and challenges.

He also briefed about purposed IIUI WAQF project and presented an introductory booklet of IIUI WAQF and threw light on its different aspects in detail. Dr. Al-Draiweesh further discussed matters regarding IIUI WAQF and to enhance mutual cooperation in this context with Dr. Al-Aqla.

Dr. Al-Aqla admired the efforts and role of Dr. Al-Draiweesh for the services of IIUI to up-lift its educational standard. He also extended his heartiest co-operation, concern, special consideration.

Moreover, in a meeting with Dr. Aadil Ahmed President IIUI paid heartiest thanks and talked about educational matters particularly to expand Arabic faculty at IIUI with co-operation of (ITAL) and initiate student teachers’ exchange program. Institute of Teaching of Arabic Language has a scope to conduct training workshops particularly in the countries of Muslim Minorities and countries of Far East. Dr, Aadil was also briefed about IIUI, its programs, projects and future plans including IIUI WAQF on which he showed deep association and expressed his concern and cooperation.

IIUI HOLDS COMPLETION OF QURAN CEREMONY

The completion of Holy Quran ceremony jointly organized by Office of the Alumni and Student Advisor Office Male International Islamic University Islamabad which was graced by the Acting President IIU Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan as chief guest. This year 13 Hafiz-e-Quran student led Namaz e Taraveeh in different Mosques in university hostels including Kuwait hostel Faisal Masjid Campus. Head IIUI Alumni Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar, Student Advisor male Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood and Director QEC Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalili also attended the sacred ceremony.

Dr. Bashir Khan in his speech highlighted the importance of Ramzan and countless blessings of Allah which showered in this holy month. He said Quran as book of wisdom, dignity and honor is one of the great blessings of Allah for mankind. Dr. Bashir said Quran is the best guiding source not only for a single community, sect, and country but for whole mankind; it makes guarantee of every success in the world and hereafter. He was of the view that Quran teaches laws of life, which would never fall its authenticity; this is way the human caravan can find a destination.

Dr. Bashir further threw the light on the image of the university and its Islamic practices while adding that university is committed to provide peaceful milieu to its students integrated with teachings of Islam. The ceremony was also addressed by the Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar, Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood and Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalili. At the end, Dr. Bashir Khan distributed cash prize of 5000 as honorarium given by Rabta Aalam e Islami and gifts to each student who led Namaz-e-Taraveeh. It is pertinent to mention here that university arranges Namaz-e-Taraveeh in all Mosques in university and hostels as well.

 

DR. AL-DRAIWEESH, PRESIDENT IIUI CALLS ON DR. ABDUL REHMAN, MEMBER BOT IIUI AT MAKKAH

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University Islamabad called on Dr. Abdul Rehman Al-Mehmood member Board of Trustees (BoT) IIUI at his residence in Makkah Saudi Arabia, discussed the matters of university. President IIUI was warmly welcomed and given prestigious reception by prominent figures there. In a meeting, both the personalities exchanged their views regarding matters of IIUI. Dr. Al-Draiweesh apprised him about the recent achievements, up-coming purposed development projects and current challenges. He said IIUI is nurturing the young blood of Muslim Ummah from more than 40 countries with quality of education integrated with Islamic traditions, teachings and values.

Dr. Al-Draiweesh also put-forth a booklet containing introduction of purposed”IIUI WAQF“project and discussed it in details.

Both the personalities exchanged their views on different aspects regarding IIUI WAQF project and to seek maximum cooperation in this context. President IIUI while briefing Dr. Al-Mehmood about IIUI WAQF added that this project would pave the way to pace up the progress and development of the university. Dr. Mehmood admired the efforts and contributions of Dr. Al-Draiweesh rendered for the services of Islam and Muslim Ummah. He hoped that IIUI is fulfilling its responsibilities and expectations associated by the Muslim Ummah with great care. Dr. Al-Mehmood extended his keen concern and special consideration for the welfare of IIUI and also assured his generous co-operation particularly for the establishment of IIUI WAQF.
He extended his high gratitude to the Chancellor IIUI, President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain and IIUI on conferring nomination as a member of Board of Trustees (BoT) IIUI and also expressed his pleasure and pride over this regard.

DR. AL-DRAIWEESH MEETS DEPUTY CHAIRMAN AFFAIRS OF MASJID-E- HARAM DR. AL-KHUZAIM

A three member delegation of International Islamic University Islamabad lead by Prof Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh President IIUI visited office of Deputy Chairman Affairs of Masjide-e-Haram Makkah, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Muhammad bin Nasir Al-Khuzaim and had a follow-up meeting regarding previously signed MoU between IIUI and Affairs of Masjide-e-Haram. Legal Advisor IIUI Mr. Rehan Uddin and Dr. Abdul Qadir were in delegation. The IIUI delegation was warmly welcomed by Director Office of Chairman Mr. Khalid Subayee, Dr. Muhammad Al-Aqlaa, Ex President Islamic University Madeena, Imam Masjid-e-Haram Al-Shaikh Hassan Al-Bukhari, Dr. Bnamae Dean Institute of Teaching of Arabic Language, University of Ummul Quraa and high officials. In the meeting, Dr. AL-Khuzaim lauded the role and acknowledged services of Dr. Al-Draiweesh particularly for the cause of Islam and for IIU where thousands of students are being nurtured in lines with Islamic teachings. He also showed strong hope that with patronage and leadership of Dr. Al-Draiweesh IIUI would make its way in top ranked universities of the world.

President IIUI also apprised him about IIUI achievements, future projects and challenges amid struggle towards high destination.

He said that students of more than 40 countries of the world being provided quality education at IIUI with a blend of Islamic traditions, teachings and values. Dr. Al-Draiweesh also presented an introductory booklet of IIUI WAQF project and discussed its details. Matters regarding IIUI WAQF (proposed) project and mutual cooperation in this context was also discussed between both the personalities.

President IIUI while briefing Dr. AL-Khuzaim about IIUI WAQF project added that it would not be only beneficial to boost the progress and development of the university but for the up-coming projects also. At the end, IIUI delegation thanked Al-Khuzaim on extending his concern and special consideration for the welfare of IIUI.

DIRECTOR MAKTABA TU DAWAH, AL-DOUSRI CALLS ON RECTOR IIUI DR. MASOOM

Director Maktaba Tu Dawah Islamabad Centre, Al-Shaikh Muhammad bin Saad Al-Dousri called on Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad discussed mutual relations between both the institutions. Maktaba Tu Dawah is an educational project of Govt of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan. On the occasion, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar head Alumni was also present.

In the meeting, while appreciating the role and contributions of Maktaba Tu Dawah for disseminating the true message of Islam, Dr. Masoom hoped that this noble service would be continue. Rector said the cooperation of Maktaba Tu Dawah with IIUI for the betterment and progress in different ways is exemplary. He thanked to Al-Dousri on taking keen interest and shows deep association with university and apprised about arrangements regarding the Aetkaf in Faisal Masjid.

Dr. Masoom also made him aware that university management is working to provide finest and secure educational environment to young ones of Muslim Ummah. Rector said Maktaba Tu Dawah is playing very positive role for the promotion and publication of Holy Quran in different languages of the world.

Al-Dousri also paid high thanks on his reception at IIUI; he also presented Quran ul Qareem with Urdu and English translations respectively.

 

DR. AL-DRAIWEESH CALLS ON KSA ROYAL COURT ADVISOR

Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) called on Advisor at the Royal Court of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Sheikh Dr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Shathri.

The meeting was held in Makkah in which issues pertaining to mutual interest and a detailed discussion regarding future developmental works at IIUI, such as its requirements in future and goals were discussed.

Issues pertaining to IIUI WAQF (proposed) project, and mutual cooperation in this regard was also discussed during the meeting. Dr. Al-Draiweesh briefed Dr Saad about IIUI WAQF project adding that it would not only help in progress and development of the university while it would also be beneficial for the students of more than 4o countries acquiring quality education at university.

The meeting was also attended by Aima of Kaa’ba including Osama Al Khyat, Saleh Al-Talib, Sh. Khaid Al-Ghamidi, Sh. Yasir Al-Dousri and Sh Dr. Yousif Bin Abdullah Al-wabil, who is Advisor in the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques, while custodian of the keys of Holy Kaaba, Sh. Abdul Qadir Bin Talha Al-Shaibi was also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, Sheikh Dr. Saad bin Nasser assured every possible support for the completion of WAQF project proposed by IIUI while he lauded Dr. Al-Draiweesh for his services for Ummah and hoped that under his leadership IIUI would soon make leading place among the ranks of leading international universities of the world. He said IIUI is disseminating message of peace, true message of Islam.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Draiweesh apprised him about IIUI achievements, future goals and constraints amid struggle towards success. He said that students of more than 40 countries acquiring quality education at IIUI where Islamic countries’ youth being nurtured with a blend of Islamic traditions, teachings and values. He also handed over an introductory leaflet of IIUI WAQF project and discussed its details.

IIUI HOSTS IFTAR DINNER FOR ISLAMIC DIPLOMATS

An Iftar dinner and cultural get to gather in honour of diplomats of Islamic countries was held here at Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).

Dinner was hosted by Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector IIUI, while diplomats from Jordan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Iraq and Yemen joined the gathering.

Speaking on the occasion, diplomats shared the experiences and traditions of Ramadan in their countries and told about Eid and cultural environment amid month of fasts. The participants agreed the all Muslim countries have similarities and this month of Ramadan further strengthens the bond of unity and brotherhood among Muslim countries. The participants said that such gatherings provide opportunities for cultural exchange.

Rector Masoom Yasinzai said on the occasion that IIUI is for entire Muslim world as students of more than 40 countries acquiring quality education here and it is going to be a unique hub of solution of problems of Muslim Ummah. He urged that students’ induction from the brother Islamic countries should rise while saying that diplomats can play vital role in exchange of faculty, students and inviting new students to IIUI. He thanked all for joining the occasion as well.

Dr. Muhammad Bshir Khan, acting President IIUI also spoke on the occasion and stressed unity of Muslims while saying that Islamic countries are rich in natural resources in comparison of whole world but still facing problems such as instability, economic recessions. He was of the view the unity of Muslims is the solution of problems of Islamic world.

At the end, Dr. Sohail Hassan Acting Head of IRD, thanked all the participants for joining the event and prayed for the betterment of Muslim Ummah.

The gathering was also joined by Deans, Directors and other senior officials of the university.

 

DR. AL-DRAIWEESH CALLS ON SH. HAMAD BIN NASSER OF QATAR

Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) and sh. Hamad bin Nasser Bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of the State and the General Secretary of the Family Council/Affair, Qatar, discussed issues of mutual interest and had a detailed discussion regarding future developmental works at IIUI.

This was discussed in a meeting which was held at Makkah. Issues pertaining to IIUI WAQF (proposed) project and mutual cooperation were also discussed during the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Princes, Qatar government officials and renowned Saudi Arabian figures.

During the meeting, Sh. Hamad bin Nasser assured that he would provide every possible support for the completion of WAQF project proposed by IIUI while he desired that it must be launched as soon as possible. He also lauded Dr. Al-Draiweesh for his services for Ummah and hoped that under his leadership IIUI would soon make leading place among the ranks of leading international universities of the world.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Draiweesh apprised him about IIUI achievements, future goals and constraints amid struggle towards success. He said that students of more than 40 countries acquiring quality education at IIUI where Islamic countries’ youth being nurtured with a blend of Islamic traditions, teachings and values. FET: AEL 5-DAYS WORKSHOP ON “CHIP PROCESS DESIGN & ANALYTICAL TESTING” SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES

The Advanced Electronics Laboratories Project, International Islamic University Islamabad conducted a 5-days workshop on “CHIP PROCESS DESIGN AND ANALYTICAL TESTING” for faculty members from Faculty of Engineering & Technology and graduate students from Department of Electronic Engineering who entered into research phase from summer 2015.

The workshop took place in both the research laboratories including Device Design Suite and Process Characterization Suite. The training was conducted on internationally licensed softwares and R&D grade sophisticated machines in the laboratories. The workshop was spread over five hands-on teaching and training sessions including Chip Design’s Physical Processes, Electrical Characterization, Advanced Electrical Characterization Electro-optical Assessment & Rapid Thermal Processing, and Back End Processes.

The team of trainers led by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed (Principal Investigator of AEL), Engr. Faraz Qayyum, Engr. Shoaib Alam and Engr. Muhammad Ali provided the participants with the knowledge and tools of physical processes of IC design as well as post-process reliability, efficiency and failure analysis of devices and micro systems for diverse applications. The workshop was also supported by Pakistan Engineering Council’s CPD programs in the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.

 

IIUI REBUTS NEWS ITEM PERTAINING TO PRESENCE OF “IS” AT CAMPUS

International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has strongly rebutted a news item about “DAESH (IS) presence at IIUI and allegations of insecurity at varsity” leveled by Online International News Network (a news wire), while terming the story untrue and baseless.

IIUI spokesman Hairan Khattak Monday, in response to the allegations such as presence of IS flags, literature and insecure environment at the university, said that “ it was quite upsetting to see that the news item released by the agency was totally untrue, baseless, fabricated and out of context.

The spokesperson maintained that the reporter of Online News has distorted the facts as what was said in response to his questions during a phone call was not aptly presented in the story. He refuted while saying that he has never said that “agencies should supervise situation at IIUI”. He also said that it was unfortunate that various media sections have published the story which was not equipped with facts.

One should rightly expect that before issuing any such statement, the reporter and the organization should follow the due course and adopt all means and ways of authentication and verification, but unfortunately no such measures were taken as the news was issued without presenting the facts while spokesman’s version was also presently inappropriately, Hairan Khattak said.

Regarding the security concerns in the new item, he elaborated that university has comprehensive and well established security system, while compliance of University cards, installation of walk- through gates; CCTV monitoring and other strict measures have been taken for fool proof security. He added that registration of hostelites is regularly renewed in wake of security measures.

The IIUI spokesman furthered that the agency’s baseless news has impinged that integrity and image of IIUI and requested the news agency to issue the clarification and rebuttal of this news item in the best interest of honesty and ethical journalism within minimum possible time.

MAKTABA TU DAWAH KSA ARRANGES IFTAR PARTY AT IIUI HOSTELS

The educational project of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Maktaba Tu Dawa in Pakistan and Royal Embassy of Kindom of Saudi Arabia arranged grand Iftar dinner at hostels of International Islamic University Islamabad here at yesterday.

The Director Maktaba Tu Dawa Abu Saad Muhammad bin Saad Al-Doussri and Rector IIUI, Dr. Masoom Yasinzai graced the Iftar party as chief guests, while hostel management, deans, directors, faculty members of different departments were also present on the occasion. The Iftar party was arranged for more than fifteen hundred students.

”Ramzan is one of the special blessings of Allah, we need to get benefit with maximum capacity and collect His special salvation“. Muhammad bin Saad said. He further said IIUI is serving Muslim Ummah and producing graduate who are integrated with teachings of Islam. Dr. Masoom paid high gratitue to Maktaba Tu Dawa and Khadamul Harmain Al-Shareefain for taking keen interest and contributions in IIUI. He also hoped that such co-operation would be continued in future which strengthen the relations.

At the occasion Muhammad bin Saad made special prayer for the prosperity of Pakistan and unity of Muslim Ummah.

APPOINTMENTS AT IIUI

International Islamic University (IIU) has made new appointments in the Shariah Academy and Dawah Academy.

According to an office order, Dr. Muhammad Munir, Associate Professor Faculty of Shariah and Law, is entrusted the responsibility of Director Shariah Academy, while Dr. Sohail Hassan Abdul Ghafar is entrusted the responsibility of Director Dawah Academy.

Meanwhile, “existing Directors General of Islamic Research Institute (IRI) and International Institute of Islamic Economics (IIIE) shall also henceforth be re-designated as Directors” the notification contained.

MAKTABA TU DAWAH HOSTS IFTAR PARTY AT IIUI

An Iftar Party at hostel five of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) was arranged hosted by Maktaba Tu Dawah, Islamabad Centre.

It was attended by Director Maktaba Tu Dawah Abu Saad Mohamed Bin Saad Al-Doussri, Acting President IIUI Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, Hafiz Muhammad Anwar, Advisor to the President IIUI Dr. Abdul Qadir, Dean Faculty of Arabic Dr. Muhammad Bashir, Students Advisor Hafiz Abid Masood and other IIUI officials.

The Iftar party was arranged for more than two thousands students. On the Occasion, Saad Al-Doussri said that Ramzan e Kreem is the month of blessings and it further enhances the unity among the Muslims. He advised the students to gain maximum blessings of this month amid fasting and Ibadaat.

Dr. Mohammad Bashir Khan said on the occasion that present Iftar gathering is visible example of the brotherhood unity and love among both Muslim countries Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

After Iftar, students met with Shaeikh Al-Doussri and Dr. Mohammad Bashir Khan and shared their views and discussed unity of Muslim countries.

A three member delegation from Muslim Council of Elders, (MCE) Egypt lead by Prof Dr. Yousuf Amer, visited International Islamic University, Islamabad and called on Dr Masoom Yasinzai, Rector IIUI. Dr. Yousuf was accompanied by Dr. Reham Abdullah and Research Scholar Ms Asma Shubaan. The delegation was received at IIUI new campus on behalf of President IIUI Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh by Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Khawja Director General (AF&P) while Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq Director Islamic Research Institute (IRI) IIUI and Dr. Muhammad Anwar Head IIU Alumni were also present.

In meeting with Rector IIUI, Dr. Yousuf who is also Deputy Dean of Languages Al-Azhar University Egypt apprised Dr. Masoom about objectives and goals of Muslim Council of Elders and different projects to disseminate the message of peace, tolerance and co-existence in the world particularly in Muslims societies. He said MCE has been established with the aim to eradicate social evils from the societies and strengthen the moral values. He said, the council is free from any bias and sectarian element, condemns the extremist attitude in young minds of Muslim Ummah. Dr. Yousuf also admired the contributions of IIUI for the services of Islam and Muslim Ummah, he also requested co-operation from IIUI in this effort.

Dr. Masoom in his talk viewed a mechanism for students, teachers exchange program which actually would strengthen the mutual relations of both countries. He also thanked to Govt of Egypt and Al-Azhar University Egypt, for its rich contribution in IIUI academia and faculty. ”Both countries Pakistan and Egypt are making lot of progress in science and technology and serving Muslim Ummah with their trained and skilled human resources“, Dr. Masoom said. Rector IIUI assured its co-operation up-to maximum to the delegation members for the cause of Islam and termed this peace caravan a mile stone towards peace, stability and prosperity of Muslim Ummah.

Earlier, in a meeting, Gulzar Khawja was of the view that to ensue this noble cause a lecture series should be conducted to motivate young ones towards a way of tolerance, patience and co-existence which would be best investment. He also briefed the delegation about university in detail and threw light on the important features, achievements and distinctions of the university. On the occasion Dr. Zia ul Haq said IIUI would be best platform, if MCE desires to open its Pakistan chapter as the IIUI offers peaceful milieu to its students. Dr. Anwar on behalf of Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh President IIUI, particularly thanked the delegation on visiting IIUI. Later on, the delegation also visited Female Campus of the university.

 

IIUI, CHINESE ISLAMIC COUNCIL INK MOU FOR TECHNOLOGY SCHOOL

International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) and Council of Islamic Chinese Relations of China (CICRC) have penned an MoU for establishing “IIUI New Silk Road School of Technology” at IIUI.

Chinese Council will provide full support for infrastructure, equipment and faculty members for the school, while Chinese faculty would impart technical training to the students of school to cater the needs of human resources for joint Pak-China projects under Pak-China Economic Corridor.

The MoU was signed here at Faisal Masjid campus of IIUI by the IIUI Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, and Dr. Ding Houfei, President, Council of Islamic Chinese Relations in presence of Vice President Academics (IIUI) Dr. Mohammad Bashir Khan, Director General (IIUI) Gulzar Ahmed Khwaja and Chinese delegates.

According MoU, both sides would jointly hold conference, seminars, lectures and exchange of faculty, students to share the experiences. Both sides agreed that a committee will be formed to ensure execution of the plans set to achieve the goals . It was agreed that exchange of research and cooperation in development of training strategies and programs would be extended by both sides.

Talking on the Mutual cooperation and importance of economic corridor, Dr. Masoom Yasinzai said that IIUI and Chinese organizations’ mutual cooperation in enhancing human resource can be proved as one of the pioneer steps for the success of the economic corridor.

He maintained that this opportunity can help in brining improvements in the education sector and it would also increase people to people contact between both countries.

Dr. Ding Houfei said on the occasion that different organizations of international repute in China are ready to give opportunity to Pakistani students where they can broaden their exposure and skills as well.

Meanwhile, An Iftar dinner was also hosted by Rector IIUI in honor of Council of Islamic Chinese Relations of China, on the sidelines of MoU.

 

PRESIDENT IIU MEETS AL-AZHAR FACULTY, WELCOMES TO IIU

President International Islamic University (IIU) Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, in a meeting with teachers of Al-Azhar University of Egypt, welcomed them for being selected to teach at IIU.

A number of ten teachers would join IIU by the start of next semester who will teach in different disciplines including Arabic, Shariah, Seerah and History. Already a handsome number of teachers from Al-Azhar University are also teaching at IIUI and present addition is part of the initiative of exchange of faculty under an MoU signed between both universities.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Draiweesh lauded Al-Azhar University for its cooperation to the universities of Islamic world. He added that Al-Azhar has been providing faculty support since IIU’s inception, while he appreciated services of Professor Dr Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Al-Tayyeb and thanked him for his continuous cooperation.

While briefing about IIU, President IIU apprised the teachers about the faculties, teaching methodologies. He said that IIU is working to disseminate Islam’s message of peace and teachers at IIU teach about peace, tranquility and harmony while discouraging the violence.

Teachers thanked President IIU for his welcome and vowed that they would be proven as best addition to IIU.
