IIUI: DAWAH ACADEMY’S MOOT ON DR. MAHMOOD AHMAD GHAZI’S CONTRIBUTION

A two-day international moot on “reconstruction of thought education, society & civilization from an Islamic Perspective: Appraisal of Dr. Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi’s contribution”  was organized by Dawah Academy of International Islamic University (IIUI) commenced here at Faisal Masjid campus of the university.

As many as 53 research papers were presented by the national and international scholars in various sessions of the conference.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony, while it was also attended by President IIUI, Dr. Ahmed Yousaf Al-Draiweesh, renowned scholar and younger brother of Dr Ghazi, Dr. Muhammad Al-Ghazali, Director Dawah Academy, Head  Muslim World League, Dr. Abduh Utain, Dr. Sohail Hassan, participant scholars and varsity’s relevant officials.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Ghazali, while reminiscing Dr. Ghazi and his way of life shared his personality attributes and highlighted his prudence, way of research and his teaching traits.

In his speech, Sardar M. Yousaf paid tributes to Dr. Mehmood Ahmed Ghazi and said that his services as former religious minister and member Pakistan Ideology Council were commendable. He added that his initiatives such as establishment of Madrasa board, and Model Deeni Madrsa were symbols of his valuable vision. He lauded the university for arranging a constructive event and hoped the scholars would be able to have meaningful recommendations through which guidance from the research and works of Dr. Ghazi  would be made possible.

Dr. Al-Draiweesh , in his speech said that Dr. Ghazi dedicated more than three decades of his life to the university and IIUI would keep striving to utilize his services, teachings and vision for its development. He also hailed the Dawah Academy  for arranging the conference.

Earlier, Dr. Sohail Hassan apprised the participants about objectives of the conference and told that scholars would also discuss more than hundred research papers, 25 Urdu books, 7 English and Arabic works of Dr. Mehmood Ahmed Ghazi.

Meanwhile, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and Dr. Ahmed Yousaf Al-Draiweesh inaugurated Dr. Mehmood Ahmed Ghazi Library of Dawah Academy. It is pertinent to mention that Dawah Academy’s public library is named to Dr. Mehmood Ahmed Ghazi in recognition of his services.

Concluding ceremony of the conference was presided over by renowned scientist Dr. Abdul Qadir Khan as a chief guest. He said in his speech that Pakistanis have enormous love for the homeland in their hearts. He said that country will soon be out of tough circumstances. He added that Quran and life of the Prophet (PBUH) are the best sources to have solution of our worries. He stressed that works and research of thinkers and prudent personalities such as Dr Mehmood Ahmed Ghazi must be utilized to put youth on the pathway to success. He also shared his memories he had with Dr. Mehmood Ahmed Ghazi and hailed his services for IIUI, education and Islam.
