ONE DAY SIMULTANEOUS CHESS COMPETITION AT IIUI

The International Islamic University’s Student Advisor office organized a one day Chess Competition at IIU-Sport Office.

The main objectives were talent hunt of chess players in IIUI, to improve the skills, capacity and thinking of IIUI-Chess players.

More than sixty students were present on the occasion. The chief guest at the occasion was Mr. Amin Malik who is General Secretary of Pakistan Chess federation and President of Pakistan Chess Academy. He along with his team of coaches played simultaneously with IIU-Chess players and helpedour students to learn from their mistake/weak areas and improve their tactics and strategy in the game of Chess.

Mr. Amin Malik stressed that IIUI-Chess players are a talent which needs to be polished. He also promised to train IIU-Chess players at his academy and would continue to support IIU-Chess related events/competitions in future.

The event was also attended by student advisor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad Zia. The IIU-Chess in charge, Mr. Masood Ur Rehman Khattak, Lecturer, Department of Politics and International Relations along with sports in charge Mr. Khalid and Assistant director student advisor office Mr. Ausaf Chaudhary organized this event and managed to bring key figure of chess in Pakistan at IIUI.

The participants were also awarded Certificates of the participation at the end.
