International Islamic University Islamabad refutes the news circulating in the media regarding the alleged occupation of Faisal Mosque.
According to Section 4, sub section 5 of IIU ordinance of 1985 “The university shall be the custodian of the Faisal Mosque, Islamabad, and the buildings attached to the Mosque…”

Hence, IIUI’s control and presence at Faisal Mosque is perfectly legal and according to the law. IIUI is the only entity that has the legal mandate regarding affairs of the Faisal Mosque as its custodian.

A one-day free eye camp was organized for the employees and students of the International Islamic University at medical Centre, male campus.

A large number of IIUI students and Faculty members attended the camp which was held in collaboration with IIUI medical centre and Al-Shifa Eye Trust.

The camp included qualified doctors and efficient staff of 10 members of Al-Shifa Trust, while patient’s eye screening, evaluation of eye,diagnosis for various eye ailments and necessary on the spot treatment were done during the camp.

The camp was inaugurated by the Acting President IIUI, Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan and Vice President IIUI, Dr. Muhammad Munir who both had their eye screening on the occasion. They both hailed the efforts of Senior Medical Officer IIUI Dr. Khalil ur Rehman and his team for the successful arrangement of the eye camp.

Dr. Bashir Khan said on the occasion that such activities be continued with more frequency. He urged that awareness sessions for eye health be arranged as youth were using gadgets in excess and it was resulting in ailments of eyes due to screen exposure.

In the camp, after checkup, medicine, and free glasses were also provided who were in need.

On the occasion, turnout was remarkable as around thousand patients people were facilitated in a single day.

The IDB-IIU Advanced Electronics Laboratories International Islamic University Islamabad under the umbrella of Center of Advanced Electronics & Potovoltaic Engineering (CAEPE) conducted its 4th 6-days workshop on “CHIP PROCESS DESIGN AND ANALYTICAL TESTING” for faculty members and graduate students who entered into research phase.

The workshop took place in both the research laboratories namely Device Design Suite and Process Characterization Suite. The training was conducted on internationally licensed softwares and R&D grade sophisticated machines in the laboratories. The workshop was over six hands-on teaching and training sessions including Chip Design’s Physical Processes, Electrical Characterization, Advanced Electrical Characterization, Electro-optical Assessment & Rapid Thermal Processing, and Back End Processes.


The team of trainers led by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed (Executive Director CAEPE), Engr. Faraz Qayyum, Engr. Shoaib Alam and Engr. Muhammad Ali provided the participants with the knowledge and tools of physical processes of IC design as well as post-process reliability, efficiency and failure analysis of devices and micro-systems for diverse applications.

The workshop was designed in such a way, that the attendees got the maximum interaction with the available techniques in the lab. First two days were focused on the industry driven licensed softwares for both the physical and the circuit level designing and integration of the Micro Systems. 3rd and the 4th days were planned on the extremely sophisticated electrical and electro-optical characterization machines to seek the electrical behavioral parameters for the reliability assessment of the devices. The 5th day was comprised of the fab driven optical quantification and the annealing processes to map the fabricated devices optical parameters and also to see the impact of calculated heat flux on to the device activation and inner dynamics. The last day introduced the attendees with the novel contact metallization technique of Atomistic Layer physical Vapor Deposition system. The audience was also given the hands-on exercises of etching, cleaning, dicing and slicing of the wafers.

Vice President AF&P, Dr. Muhammad Munir planted a sapling here at new campus near the security staff office. On the occasion, Chief Security Officer, Assistant Security Officer and security staff was also present.

The Vice President said that plants are vital for the environment and urged that tree plantation must be urged in the society. He also prayed for prosperity of the university. The Vice President also maintained that youth must be made aware regarding the importance of trees.

International Islamic University, (IIU) started its summer camp for male and female students here at new campus.

The summer camp is joint collaboration of IIU and Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University, Riyadh in which students will be participating in cultural, creative, competitive activities, sports and other events and lectures.

At the male campus, in his address to the participants of the summer camp, Dr. Mohammad Bashir, acting President said that summer camp is aimed at exchanging the experiences and it is designed to bring various cultures closer. He urged for Muslim unity and said that youth is the vital force to make Muslims united to face the challenges of hour.  He said that IIUI will keep striving to provide best opportunities to the students to polish their skills and broaden their exposure. He advised the students to be well ware to advancements and take guidance from Islamic teachings in their lives.

The event was also attended by Vice President Aqdas Naveed Malik, Dean Shariah and Law Dr Tahir Hakeem, Incharge Alumni office Dr, Hafiz Muhammad Anwar, Director General Dawah Academy Dr. Sohail Haasan, Students Advisor Dr. Tariq Javed, additional students Advisor Dr. Abdul Qadir Haroon and other university officials.

On the first day, students played table tennis and participated in lectures as well.

Admissions process for Fall Semester 2017 in 9 faculties of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) is in full swing and last date for submission of forms and fee has been announced as July 21, 2017.

A large number of applicants across the country, especially, from twin cities taking keen interest in admission of more than 100 degree programs at IIUI, while separate information desks in both male and female campuses have been established to facilitate the applicants.

Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, Acting IIUI President conferred degrees upon the Indonesian students hailing from BS, MS, LLB, MA and LLM.

Graduated students are the ambassadors of IIUI, they would be a vital source of disseminating Islam’s message of peace and tranquility which they got here at the campuses of IIUI” said Dr. Bashir in the presidential address to the ceremony. He added that Muslim world was in need of having balanced and harmonious minds who could pave way to have a comprehensive strategy for dealing with contemporary challenges and IIUI, he said was hub of producing such needed young minds.

He advised the students to keep seeking guidance from Holy book in their lives. He prayed for their success and urged them to remain devoted for the cause of Islam. The event was also attended by Indonesian diplomats and IIUI relevant officials as well.

Prof. Dr. Samina Malik has been appointed as Dean Faculty of social sciences. As per issued notification, she has been appointed as the Dean of the faculty of social sciences.

At IIUI, she has been working on various academic and administrative positions. Currently, she is working as Professor, Department of Education. She possesses diversified experience in administration, research and teaching. She has also holds the portfolio of the responsibilities as Additional Director, Directorate of Distance Education, IIUI. Her areas of interest include Higher Education, Gender Issues in Education, Education Leadership and Educational Psychology.

Prof. Malik graduated with Bachelors of Education from Punjab University, Lahore, Pakistan and then completed Masters Degree in Education from University of Arid Agriculture Rawalpindi, Pakistan. After completing Masters Degree, she pursued PhD (Education) at the same university(University of Arid Agriculture, Rawalpindi). After completing PhD (Education) she completed Post doctorate from Coventry University, UK.

Prof. Dr. Samina Malik has published several research articles related to field of Education in national and internationally recognized journals. She is Editor of International Journal on Innovation in Teaching and Learning (IJITL) of the Department of Education and students’ magazine; Educators Pakistan. She has received the Best University Teacher Award from Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan for the year 2014. She is working on various HEC funded National Projects in the field of Education and on International Project of European Commission Erasmus+ Programme on “Blended Learning Courses for Teacher Educators between Asia and Europe”.

Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan , Acting President, International Islamic University, Islamabad(IIUI) discussed bilateral educational cooperation with institutional heads and other important personalities in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) .

The IIUI Acting President was invited to KSA by Prof. Dr. Suliman Abdullah Aba Al-Khail, varsity’s Pro Chancellor, while in meeting between both high ups varsity progress and academic excellence was discussed.

Dr. Mohammad Bashir Khan also met Imaam e Kaaba Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais and other renowned personalities including members of Saudi Ulema Council. In the meetings, Dr. Bashir apprised about the role of IIUI in dissemination of Islam’s message of peace.

Department of Electrical Engineering organized FETEX’17 where students were provided a platform to students to show their abilities and demonstrate skills practically, apart from their educational carrier.

FETEX’17 contained numerous interesting events such as, Robotics, speed wiring, Microcontroller interfacing, MATLAB Guru, E-Gaming, Mini cricket, futsal, and many other activities, in which as many as 500 students participated hailing from more than  20 institutes all over Pakistan and  showcased talent in their respective fields.

The event also included seminars and workshops headed by professionals form different firms and institutes, who put light on carrier counseling and ways to achieve desired goals regarding area of study, that helped students get motivated to achieve their future destinations.

The event concluded with distributions of certificates along with the cash prize money to the winners and runner-up’s, by the Chairman of the DEE Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amir, Vice President (HS&R) Prof. Dr.  Aqdas Naveed Malik and Chief guest Prof. Dr. Yasar Ayaz HoD SMME from NUST. Events were supervised by Engr Adil Farooq.
