A three-day Wellbeing Support Program was organized by the Wellbeing Center of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Female Campus. The activity was arranged near the Ayesha, Maryam, and Fatima blocks and focused on guiding students on mental wellbeing and academic effectiveness.
The program provided support on issues including stress, anxiety, time management, and workload management. Students were introduced to techniques related to mindfulness, self-awareness, personal development, communication skills, emotional expression, goal setting, and motivation. The sessions aimed to help participants reduce examination-related pressure and improve their overall academic functioning.
Professor Dr. Manzoor Khan Afridi, who attended as Chief Guest, appreciated the dedication of the trainee counselors and commended the practical nature of the activities. Dr. Rukhsana Tariq, Student Advisor Female Campus, said such initiatives play an important role in strengthening students’ mental health and should be held on a regular basis. She also expressed the desire to designate the garden adjacent to Ayesha and Fatima blocks as a Wellbeing Corner for future sessions.
The activities were conducted by trainee counselors under the supervision of Dr. Mamoona Ismail Loona, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, and Incharge Career Counseling Centre. Students from multiple departments participated and acknowledged the Wellbeing Center’s efforts in providing a supportive and beneficial learning environment.
IIUI mission is to transform the society by promoting education, training, research, technology, and collaboration for reconstruction of human thought in all its forms on the foundations of Islam.
