The Inter-Faculty Sports Gala at the Female Campus of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) commenced with a volleyball tournament featuring participation from 11 faculties. The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Amna Mehmood, In-Charge (Female Campus), as the chief guest, along with Students’ Advisor Dr. Rukhsana Tariq.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem. Dr. Rukhsana addressed the participants and emphasized the significance of co-curricular and athletic activities for students.
In her address, Dr. Amna Mehmood underlined the role of sports in student development, noting that sports contribute to physical and mental growth and cultivate values such as discipline, collaboration, and persistence. She acknowledged the efforts of Ms. Nadia Mukhtar, Incharge Sports, and her team for coordinating the event.
Ms. Nadia Mukhtar delivered the vote of thanks and encouraged the participants to engage in the tournament with commitment and fairness. Dr. Amna formally inaugurated the tournament by interacting with the players and initiating the match with a volleyball serve.
The Faculty of Social Sciences won the championship title, followed by the Arabic Department as runner-up and the Faculty of Usuluddin in third place.
