IIUI Psychology Department Holds Cross-Cultural Activity

The Department of Psychology at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized a Cross-Cultural Activity.

Students set up cultural stalls representing Pakistan and various regions of the world. The stalls displayed cultural items, traditional foods and customs, along with student presentations on the link between culture and psychology.

Prof Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmed, President IIUI, visited the stalls. He interacted with students regarding their presentations on cultural influence in shaping identity, values, behavior and emotional development. He was accompanied by Dr Manzoor Khan Afridi, Dean, and other officials.

Faculty members and students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Female Campus attended the activity. Student groups explained cultural diversity from a psychological perspective and shared examples based on classroom learning.

Prof Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmed appreciated the role of Dr Nazia Iqbal (In-Charge of the department) and acknowledged teachers who guided students in organizing the activity. He stated that such events support academic learning and help students understand cultural variations in psychological development.

The Department of Psychology expressed its commitment to continue organizing learning-based activities that connect academic knowledge with practical understanding.
