The Student Development and Placement Cell (SDPC) at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) held a workshop titled “Personal Development, CV Writing & Preparing for Job Interviews” in the Fatima Block Auditorium, marking the launch of a series of skill-building workshops under its new initiative.
Prof. Dr. Fouzia Janjua, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Literature, attended the session as Chief Guest on behalf of the University President. She appreciated the SDPC initiative and highlighted its relevance in equipping students with essential workplace skills.
Dr. Muhammad Arif introduced the objectives of the SDPC, a two-year (2025–2027) project approved by the University President and funded through the Student Advancement Fund Endowment (SAFE). He noted that the program targets final-year students, aiming to enhance employability through soft skill training and improved academia-industry linkages.
Despite high interest with 385 registered female students, only 72 could attend due to the national situation following the attack by India. Many of those unable to participate have since contacted the organizers for follow-up.
The workshop included a recorded message from Malik Khizer Hayat, Chief Data Officer at Dakota, USA, who shared leadership insights and industry trends based on his global experience.

Key sessions were delivered by Mr. Aamir Jahangir, a leadership coach and communication expert, who focused on CV writing, and Dr. Muhammad Arif, who discussed personal development strategies.
Ms. Nuzhat Zareen, Director (UAFA), led a session on capacity building and encouraged student support for education through contributions to the SAFE fund.
Souvenirs were presented to the speakers in recognition of their contributions. The workshop is part of an ongoing effort by IIUI to prepare students for the professional environment.
