IIUI Delegation Visits AIOU to Explore Digital Learning Infrastructure

A delegation from the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), comprising officials from the Directorate of Distance Learning and the Department of Teacher Education, visited the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) to explore its digital education systems and operational practices.

 

The delegation was led by Dr. Muhammad Munir Kayani, Director of Distance Learning and Chairperson of the Department of Teacher Education, IIUI. The visit aimed to gain insights into AIOU’s digital infrastructure, with a focus on course development, delivery mechanisms, and examination management in the context of distance education.

 

At AIOU, the delegation was received by Dr. Zahid Majeed, Director Academic Planning, and Mr. Arshad Manzoor, Additional Director IT. The hosts provided comprehensive briefings on the university’s use of digital platforms and integrated systems that support its nationwide distance learning model.

 

Dr. Zahid Majeed discussed AIOU’s strategic approach to digital transformation, emphasizing accessibility, quality assurance, and student engagement. Mr. Arshad Manzoor detailed the technological support provided by the Directorate of ICT, highlighting innovations in academic delivery and system integration.

 

Dr. Muhammad Munir Kayani appreciated AIOU’s role in pioneering distance education in Pakistan and expressed interest in fostering collaborative initiatives between the two institutions.

 

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen academic and technological cooperation aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of digital and distance learning in higher education.
