Eid ul Adha Prayer Offered at IIUI Men’s Hostels with Participation from International Students and On-Duty Staff

Eid ul Adha was celebrated at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) with a special congregational prayer held at 6:30 AM in the lawns of the Men’s Hostels at the new campus. The event reflected the university’s inclusive environment, bringing together international students, Pakistani residents, and on-duty staff members including employees and security officials.

 

Students from various countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Guinea, Somalia, Afghanistan, and several others joined their Pakistani counterparts in the Eid prayer. The congregation highlighted IIUI’s diverse student body and the communal spirit of Eid.

 

Mr. Khaire Muse Gedi led the prayer and delivered the Eid sermon, offering reflections on the significance of sacrifice and unity in Islam.

 

Dr. Hafiz Ghufran, Acting Provost of Men’s Hostels and Director of Students’ Affairs (Male), addressed the gathering following the prayer. He conveyed Eid greetings on behalf of the Worthy Rector, President, and Vice President (A&F) / Academics & Examinations of the university.

 

In his remarks, Dr. Ghufran emphasized the values of sacrifice, discipline, and mutual respect, encouraging students to foster harmony and focus on their academic and personal development with sincerity and commitment.

 

Following the prayer and speeches, a breakfast was arranged in Hostel No. 3 mess. The arrangement was organized by Uzbek Arth Mr. Abdur Rehman, adding to the warm and collaborative spirit of the occasion.

The event demonstrated the university’s commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for students from all backgrounds, even during holidays and breaks.
