Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Meets President IIUI to Discuss Academic and Religious Collaboration

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, held a cordial meeting with Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), at the President’s Office on the University’s New Campus.

 

The meeting focused on strengthening academic, religious, and institutional cooperation between the Pakistan Ulema Council, IIUI, and its Islamic Research Institute. Both leaders emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting Islamic scholarship, interfaith harmony, and unity in the Muslim Ummah.

 

A key part of the discussion centered around enhancing cordial and historic ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They reaffirmed their mutual commitment to furthering educational, cultural, and religious cooperation with the Kingdom, recognizing its pivotal role in the Muslim world.

 

Both sides pledged full support to each other in initiatives aimed at serving Islam and addressing contemporary challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah. Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi highlighted the role of Islamic institutions like IIUI in shaping narratives of peace, moderation, and scholarly excellence.

 

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed expressed his appreciation for the continuous support of the Pakistan Ulema Council and reiterated the university’s commitment to advancing research and higher education grounded in Islamic values.
