The Career Counseling Center (Female Campus) at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), in collaboration with trainee counselors from the Department of Psychology, organized counseling sessions titled “Access to Counseling and Psychological Services” as part of World Mental Health Week. The activity focused on promoting psychological well-being, encouraging help-seeking behavior, and creating awareness about available counseling services within the university.
The sessions, held at the Seminar Room, Maryam Block, were graced by Prof. Dr. Amna Mahmood, In-charge Female Campus, as chief guest. Other distinguished attendees included Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman (Vice President Administration & Finance / Vice President Academics), Dr. Inaam-ul-Haq (Director Works) and Dr. Rukhsana Tariq (Student Advisor).

Trainee counselors conducted sessions on key topics such as overthinking, anger and time management, boundary setting, self-criticism, exam stress, and career planning. They provided practical strategies for emotional regulation, productivity enhancement, and aligning career goals with personal strengths.

The sessions, supervised by Dr. Mamoona Ismail Loona, drew active participation from students across departments. Participants described the sessions as insightful and helpful in understanding emotions and developing healthy coping mechanisms.
The activity was widely appreciated and reflected IIUI’s ongoing commitment to promoting mental health awareness and fostering a supportive campus environment.
