Dawah & Islamic Culture

There are many misconceptions and misunderstandings of Dawah issue in Islam amongst the Western people and intellectuals. It should be clearly mentioned that there is very big difference between Islamic tabligh, dawah and missionary activity of other religions. The Holy Qur’an declares Dawah conditions and ways in many verses. One of them is shown under:

"Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and Most Gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from his path, and who receive guidance (al-Nahl 16/125)"

Under the guidance of Qur’anic verses and Prophetic tradition Dawah Department tries to teach Islam for academic and practical purposes in the BS and MS levels. In BS level students take different subjects in common 5 semesters and then they went to deep in three specialization semesters of Dawah. In MS level there are courses related to dawah issues, tafseer, hadith, comparative religions and others.
Department intends to bring the modern techniques of communication to the knowledge of its students. To achieve this goal it tries to get help of other faculties and departments of the University, such as department of Mass Media in the Faculty of Social Studies.
