| The Department of Comparative Religion is committed to studying world religions taking its cue from the following Qur’anic principles: |
| |
- There is no compulsion in religion. The Right Way stands clearly distinguished from the wrong. (Al-Baqarah 2:256)
- Indeed, the religion in the eyes of Allah is Islam (submission). (Al-e Imran 3:19).
- Say: “People of the Book! Come to a word common between us and you: that we shall serve none but Allah and shall associate none with Him in His Divinity and that some of us will not take others as lords other than Allah.” And if they turn away (from accepting this call), tell them: “Bear witness that we are the ones who have submitted ourselves exclusively to Allah.” (Al-e Imran 3:64).
- Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and reason with them in the best manner possible. (Al-Nahl 16:125).
