Department of Shari‘ah

Faculty of Shariah & Law was established with the core objective to produce the leaders and the experts in SHARIAH and LAW who can lead the Muslim Ummah all over the World; can understand the contemporary issues and need of the Muslim Ummah; can compete the world with their intellectual and scholarly approach in the light of Shariah. The department is enthusiastic to produce the professionals who can contribute in various fields having the command on Shariah as well as law to meet the challenges in their respective fields such as ISLAMIC BANKING, MUSLIM FAMILY LAW, HALAL FOOD, and HUMAN RIGHTS LAW with specific focus on Shariah.

Shariah department offers Ph.D Shariah (Islamic Law& Jurisprudence) and a wide range of specialized LL.M. and MS degree Programmes such as LL.M. Islamic Commercial Law, MS Islamic Commercial Law, LL.M. Muslim Family Law, MS Muslim Family Law, MS Human Rights Law and BA, LLB (Hons) Shariah & Law. The Department is distinguished with the foreign faculty having specialization in different areas of FIQH and USUL-UL-FIQH. Overall PhD faculty is more than 20 members including national and International. The graduates of the department are fully competent to become Shariah advisers in banks, halal food industry; become judges, consultants, academicians, researchers as well as complementary and supporting roles with better knowledge and training in Shariah.
