SPRING CARNIVAL FEMALE CAMPUS; NATIONAL SONG, DOCUMENTARY COMPETITIONS

The on-going Spring Carnival in Female Campus is on its full bloom with multi activities and competitions which witnessed enthusiasm, passion and preparation. In this connection, Department of Economics organized the National Songs competition to re-signify the nation’s ingrained patriotism. The high water mark of this event was the participation of the Indonesian students in this event, as a token of appreciation they were awarded a special prize of distinction.

The competition was clinched by Momi Gul from Department of Sociology and Quratulain of Environmental Sciences receiving 1st position, Han Husain of Social Sciences stood 2nd while Zubaria of the Urdu Department got 3rd position.

In addition, Department of Politics and International Relations organized documentary competition in which Maria Khan from Mass Communication stood on top of victory stand by clinching 1st position, Maria Arshad from Department of Software stood 2nd while Maryam Khan from Department of International Relations received 3rd position.

SPRING CARNIVAL CONCLUDES AT IIUI MALE CAMPUS

The 18-day long colourful Spring Carnival came to an end on Wednesday which remained a centre of entertainment and a platform to showcase talent for the students of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) at its male campus.

The Spring Carnival which was organized by the Students Advisor Office (male) concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. Debate competitions, quiz competitions, essay writing, poetry recitation, Hifz e Quran and Naat competition, social events, book fair, sports and other enthralling activities were the main features at the event.

The closing and Prize distribution ceremony was joined by the Vice President IIUI Dr. Mohammad Bashir Khan, Deputy Dean Islamic Studies Dr. Haroon ur Rasheed, Students Adviser Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood, Additional Students Advisor Dr. Abdul Qadir Haroon, events organizers from faculty and a large number of students.

“Education is not all about books and exams but it becomes complete with co-curricular and extracurricular activities” said Dr. Mohammad Bashir Khan. He furthered that healthy activities are necessary for healthy life. He added that Islam is a religion of peace and it’s a complete code of life which covers all aspects of human life including sports activities. VP IIUI said that university organizing such activities since its inception and every year it produces talented personalities after exploring their talent and skills. He congratulated the winners and organizers for arranging a successful gala.

Dr. Harron ur Rasheed shared his thoughts by saying that Islam encourage sports activities and IIUI is proud to provide platform to its students as they gear up their talent and skills by using this plat form.

Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood whose office was busy in dealing with more than 30 activities for almost three weeks, vowed that his office would keep arranging such constructive activities in future. He added that talented IIUI students are the proud of university as they are its ambassadors.

Students were overwhelmed after receiving their shields and prizes for their victories. Ridwan Miftakhul Rochman, an Indonesian student at IIUI’s Politics and IR department clinched positions in photography, calligraphy, sketching and oil painting. “You ultimately win when you love your work and do it with passion” He said after experiencing rounds of applause for his again and again nomination in the ceremony.

At the end, souvenirs were granted to all the winners of more than 30 competitions.

POETRY PROGRAM TITLED AS “SUKHAN DILNAWAZ” HELD AT MALE CAMPUS

Students Advisor Office organized a poetry recitation event titled as “Sukhan Dilnawaz” where students recited the poetry of renowned poets.

A number of beautiful voices were explored amid their recitation of poetry with rhythm, while the participants were lauded by the judges. The event host was Dr. Habib ur Rehman Asim while the judges include Dr. Nadeem Ravish, Dr. Tayab Munir and Mr. Muhammad Altaf.

E-GAMING SKILLS TESTED AT MALE CAMPUS, 200 STUDENTS SHOWCASED TALENT

E-Gaming and Speed Programming Competitions in Department of Computer science and software engineering were held in connection with the ongoing Spring Carnival.

This competitions were headed by Mr. Waseem (Teaching and Research associate). More than 200 students participated in the event which contained three rounds (first round, semi finals and final round). Three games including call of duty, need for speed and Mohaa were played during the competitions.

The event was inaugurated by Additional Students Advisor Dr Abdul Qadir Haroon, Chairman Department of computer science and Software engineering Dr. Husnain Naqvi, Assistant Professor Asim Munir, Assistant Professor Imran Saeed and Research Associate Mr. Waseem.

 

DRAMATICS AND VIDEO GRAPHING COMPETITIONS HELD AT MALE CAMPUS

Dramatics and video graphing competitions were held at male campus in connection with Spring Carnival.

Competitions were organized by Mr Rooh ul Ameen and Ahmad Zarar Babri (faculty members). More than 25 teams showcased talent in the competitions, while more than 500 students joined to watch the performances of talented Isalmians. On the occasion, more than 8 dramas and 10 videos were presented along with many shot skits and international performances.

Event competitions were judged by Mr. Raja Shaukat Ali, senior visual editor, Mr. Uzair Ahmed, senior producer of PTV.

The event was inaugurated by Additional Students Advisor Dr Abdul Qadir Haroon and Students Advisor Dr Abid Masood. They wished the students best of luck for their respective competitions. Position holders of these competitions will be awarded shields at closing ceremony.

Dr. Abdul Qadir Haroon said that these kind of activities should be organized frequently as such opportunities not only energize the youth but also provide them platform to polish their skills.

 

SPRING CARNIVAL FEMALE CAMPUS; PARTICIPATIONS IN COMPETITIONS WITH SPIRIT, PASSION

The Spring Carnival activities in female campus are on full swings with different competitions of curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular. The students are participating with full preparation in courage and urge of securing the positions in competitions.

In the series of competitions department of Psychology organized fresh salad competition in which Kainat Zia and Noureen Kazim from department of Psychology jointly clinched 1st, Ammara Farhat and Maham Khawja from Politics and International Relations got 2nd position while Kshaf Khalid and Najmul Hudda from department of Psychology received 3rd position.

In addition, department of Electronics Engineering organized Graphic Designing competition in which more than ten students took part while Rafia Malik from Media & Communication stood on 1st position, Hina Anjam Media & Communication declared 2nd and Samina Shukat from Usuluddin received 3rd position.

In continuation of the activities, department of Sociology geared the cleanliness drive which is being carry on in the campus in which large number of students took part and prepared different cards, messages to care about cleanliness in the campus.

COMPETITIONS OF HIFZ, HADITH AND NAAT HELD AT MALE CAMPUS

In connection with the Spring Carnival, Students’ Advisor office (male) organized Hifz, Qiraat, Hadith and Naat competitions.
Dawah & Tarbeeya Committee of the university organized Hifz and Hadith competitions. The Hifz Competition contained four categories including Last 03 para, last 07, last 15 and Full Holy Quran. A Large number of students from all faculties participated in the competitions. Dr. Taj Afsar, Assistant Prof. FIS/Chairman Dawah & Tarbeeya Events Committee encouraged the students’ participation.
Meanwhile, a bilingual Naat Competition (Arabic, Urdu) was also held here at male campus of IIUI which was attended by more than 40 students from different. Mr. Basit Qureshi, Lecturer FIS, Mr. Abdul Malik, Lecturer FIS, Mr. Altaf Hussain were the judges of this competition. The event was organized by Dr. Taj Afsar, Assistant Prof. FIS who is the Chairman of organizing committee.

“MINUTE TO WIN IT” COMPETITION ENTHRALLS AUDIENCE AT MALE CAMPUS
IIUI STUDENTS SHOW PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS

Student’s Adviser Office, in connection with the Spring Carnival organized “Minute to Win it & Throw/Eat and Win it” competitions. These events were part of the social events category of the meda Spring Carnival.
As many as 70 different teams from all faculties participated in the competition. Fifteen prizes were awarded to best teams who completed their tasks in time. Student adviser male Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood and Dr. Abdul Qadir Haroon, Additional Students Adviser appreciated the Students’ efforts in Social events’ competition. The events were organized by lecturer department of Media and Communication Studies Mr. Rooh ul Amin.
It is pertinent to mention that students’ adviser office (male) organizes multiple events throughout the academic year for the students of IIUI that not only help in nourishing their talent through different platforms but also play a vital role in their character building.
Meanwhile, creative skills of IIUI youth were tested in a Photography Competition which was based on open theme. Over 70 participants submitted their photographs. After Judgments result will be announced. Shields and certificates will be awarded to the position holders in prize distribution ceremony.

ART EXHIBITION HELD AT CENTRAL LIBRARY

An art exhibition was organized here at central library of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in connection with Spring Carnival.
The event was supervised by Mr Rooh ul Ameen, faculty member media and communication studies department, which was attended by a large number of students.
Event competitions were judged by the guests from Pakistan Art Council, who lauded all the participants of the event for their creative skills and wished success for their future.
Earlier, the exhibition was inaugurated by Additional Students Advisor Dr Abdul Qadir Haroon and Students Advisor Dr Abid Masood. They all wished the students best of luck for their respective competitions. Position holders of these competitions will be awarded shields at closing ceremony.

 

 

DEPARTMENT OF MEDIA COMMUNICATION STUDIES ORGANIZES EVENT TITLED MEDIA HUNT

In connection of ongoing Spring Carnival 2015, Department of Media and Communication and Students’ Advisor Office International Islamic University jointly organized an event with the title “Media Hunt”.
Additional Student Advisor Dr.Abdul Qadir Haroon inaugurated the event, on the occasion Chairman Department of Media and Communication Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Mr.Inaam ur Rehman, Mr. Junaid Ghouri and other faculty members and executive body of Islamians Media Society (IMS) contributed in this event to make it more appealing. In his address Dr. Qadir said the core ambition of IIUI is to provide a learning atmosphere to the students where they can comprehend their skills. He also thanked to DMCS for the admirable arrangements for this event. Chairman DMCS Dr. Zafar Iqbal, in his views, said that Media Department beyond any doubt is progressing ahead in best ways, which HEC has also acknowledged. He also said that these activities provide the opportunities which are helpful for the students not only to utilize their skills but also to boost up their confidence. The president if IMS Mr. Sohaib Bin Noor also shared his views. The event also witnessed different competitions in which students took keen interest to compete their abilities, which is very beneficial for their professional career. The competitions and activities in Media Hunt were including”Mr. DMCS Election“, competitions of Anchor-person, News Reporting, Logo Designing, Magazine Cover Designing, Chess, Luddo and Carom-Board. Mr. Sagheer Buledi, student of BS F13 elected as “Mr. DMC”, who also holds the position of the Ambassador of Department of Media and Communication Studies.

 

 

IIUI SPORTS GALA INAUGURATED
VARSITY PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES UMRAH TICKETS FOR WINNERS

The International Islamic University (IIU) Sports Gala was inaugurated here on Thursday by President IIU Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh while giving 1-Lac cash to the participant faculty teams and announcing Umrah tickets for the winners.

The inauguration ceremony was held at football ground of male campus amid March Past and oath taking ceremony of the teams. A number of events such as first-aid race, sack race, Three-leg race and 200-meter race were held where students, faculty members and employees took active part in the games. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Deans, Directors, Students’ Advisor (male) Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood, Deputy Director Sports Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah, employees and a large number of students.

“IIUI would hire an Olympian coach to further polish the skills of university players “said Dr. Al-Draiweesh while adding that efforts for establishing a special centre for sports in the varsity were underway. He furthered that youth are omen of fulgent future of Ummah while they must be provided opportunities to take part in positive activities. President IIUI stressed upon the students to make country progress as their top goal while adding that progress of Pakistan is progress of Muslim Ummah.

Earlier, Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood said in his welcome remarks that sports activities are as important as academic activities while he vowed to continue efforts for providing sports facilities to the varsity students.

At the end, winners met with the President IIUI where he announced that special souvenirs would be awarded to them in a separate ceremony.

 

 

SPRING CARNIVAL FEMALE CAMPUS; QARÁAT, PAINTING COMPETITIONS

The ongoing activities, events and competitions amid at Spring Carnival 2015 in Female Campus are gaining the momentum with sprit and active participation of the students. The department of Usuluddin organized Quran recitation (Qaráa) competition in which number of students took part in the competition.

The competition clinched with first position by Maryam Anwar student of Shariah & Law, second position secured by Nadia Ramzan from Usuluddin and third position went to Saneeha AbdulRehman student of Usuluddin.

In addition, Education of Department organized painting competition which grabbed more than 17 participants with full preparation. Student of Anthropology Tayyaba Khalid stood top of the victory stand by securing 1st position while Minahil Sherazi from Computer Science awarded second and third position was given to Bushra Kanwal student of Art and Architecture in this competition.

 

 

SPRING CARNIVAL FEMALE CAMPUS; FRESH FLOWER ARRANGEMENT AND ARABIC SPEECH COMPETITION

The Spring Carnival 2015 aimed at multicoloured activities including curricular and co-curricular competitions continue with full swing. In pursuing the co-curricular part of the carnival, the fresh flower competition organized by the Department of Sociology in which large number of students appeared with full preparation and decorated the corridors and class rooms with fresh flower caring great sense of aesthetic. The judges declared first position with the name of Quratulain student of Sociology, while second position went to Ambreen Yaqoob from Usuluddin and third position was announced as combined to Sadaf Zahra and Minahil Sherazi Computer Science.

Mean while, Department of Arabic Female Campus Organized speech competition in Arabic Language. In which participation was also good in numbers and in result table prepared by the judges, Warda Mushraf stood on first position and Maria Tahir secured second position, both from Arabic Department, while Imam Aib from English Department got third position.

 

DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY CELEBRATES CLEANLINESS DAY IN FEMALE CAMPUS

In connection Spring Carnival 2015, Department of Psychology Female Campus International Islamic University celebrated “Cleanliness Day” as the part of ongoing Spring Carnival activities. The event which also included cleanliness walk joined by the large number of students and faculty members of Psychology Female Campus; they enthusiastically participated in different activities to ensure cleanliness in the Campus.

The walk with motive to create awareness of cleanliness, Director Female Campus Dr. Samina Malik joined this cleanliness walk along with chairperson Department of Psychology Dr. Seema Gul. The students also prepared “Thank You Card” and gifts in acknowledging the services of sweepers of female campus which have been distributed among all the sweepers by the Director Female Campus.

In addition, students and faculty members of the department of Psychology made active efforts to clean both academic blocks and adjacent lawns of the female campus.

IIUI SPRING CARNIVAL: WORKSHOP ON SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION HELD

Amid International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) Spring Carnival activities a workshop titled “Search Engine Optimization” was organized by the Students Advisor Office (male) and Department of Computer Science & Software Engineering of Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences.

Mr. Atif Hafeez Malik, a leading e-Marketing Consultant of Pakistan was the guest speaker of the workshop. He has been awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz by Government of Pakistan.

The seminar was focused on digital marketing. Mr. Atif guided the students regarding fetching better traffic on websites while he also discussed the scope of e-marketing in industries.

At the end, Mr. Muhammad Waseem, Faculty Member of DCS & SE presented IIUI souvenir to the guest.

 

 

IIUI Spring Carnival: Creative minds showcase talent at Male campus

In connection with the Spring Carnival, Students Adviser Office (male) of international Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) arranged Arts Contest in collaboration with Sadqain Art Society of the university.

A number of Students hailing from different faculties and departments such as Department of Art and Architecture, FBAS, Shariah and Law, Usuluddin and FET participated in the event. It was attended by a large number of foreign students from Indonesia and China while a group of students from Rawalpindi Arts Council also took part in the competition.

Dr. Bashir Ahmed Khan, Vice President Academics visited the contest and appreciated the work of Young Artists. The event was supervised by Rohul Amin, Faculty member Department of Media & Communication Studies while Zarar Haider Babary from Department of Art and Architecture was also present on the occasion.

The team of the organizers of the event includes Syed Hassaan Ali Shah (CEO Sadequain Art Society), Younis Roomi (General Secretary), Usman Khalid (Coordinator) and Kashif Ullah (Asst. Coordinator).

Participants took keen interest in the competition and produced laudable pieces of Calligraphy, Oil Painting, and Sketching Art.

 

IIUI SPRING CARNIVAL: COMPETITIONS OF CALLIGRAPHY, MINI-CRICKET HELD

IIUI Spring Carnival continues with number of constructive activities at male campus where students have been witnessed busy in showing their talent in sports and creative competitions.

Male students took part in calligraphy and mini-cricket tournament which kicked-off here at the male campus on the other day. As many as 48 teams are participating in the mini cricket tournament amid keen interest of the audience as the event has gained enormous appreciation and fame in the campus. On the other side, calligraphy competition was held here at the activity centre where more than 30 students of various departments took part and showed their creative skills. Another event of oil painting was also held on the sidelines of the aforesaid events where talent of the young Islamians was duly appreciated.

“We have worked hard and hoping to get the title of the tournament “ said Saeed who is participating the mini cricket tournament. “Calligraphy is a passion for me, and I am thankful to IIUI for providing me precious opportunity to learn more and showcase my talent” told Raheel, a student who was committed to win the calligraphy contest.

IIUI Spring Carnival had kicked-off on April 13 and would conclude on April 29 with a concluding ceremony. It is in full swing where students are taking active part in number of co-curricular and extra-curricular sports activities.

SPRING CARNIVAL; SPORTS ACTIVITIES IN FULL SWINGS AT FEMALE CAMPUS

In connection with Spring Carnival 2015, International Islamic University Female Campus, sports competitions were inaugurated by Director Academic Ms Shagufta Haroon here with opening the competition of badminton at Gymnasium Hall. On the occasion of sports inauguration, Director Female Campus Dr. Samina Malik, Students Advisor Female Dr. Najeeba Arif and In-Charge Sports Ms Nadia Mukhtar were also present.

The students exhibited their preparation and courage in flag march past which showed great discipline and passion to stand on victory. In her address Ms Shagufta highly appreciated the efforts and preparation of the athletes and players by saying that, sports and games are necessary part along with study. She said that games keep mind fresh and healthy mind nurtures in healthy body, students should be encouraged the take part in sports activities. Ms Shagufta Haroon was also presented a shield by Dr. Samina Malik and Dr. Najeeba Arif.

SPRING CARNIVAL IN FULL SWING AT IIUI

Spring Carnival activities are in full swing at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) amid various competitions, exhibitions and workshops. A number of events were organized by the students’ advisor office (male) by providing opportunity to the young minds to showcase their talent. Office organized tri-lingual essay writing and story writing competitions in Urdu, English and Arabic in which more than 50 students participated and narrated their thoughts on extempore topics. “We are lucky to have such opportunities because the competitions are helping us to really gear up our confidence” said Munir who participated in the story writing competition.

The office has also announced awards for the winners of the competition who will be given their prizes in prize distribution ceremony. On the other hand, a two-day book fair has become a focus of number of students where a large number of the stalls have been set up by various publishers. It was inaugurated by the Vice President Academics Dr. Mohammad Bashir Khan.

Meanwhile, students of male campus are also gearing up to upcoming activities including mini-cricket tournament, calligraphy and photography.

SPRING CARNIVAL ACTIVITIES CONTINUE AT FEMALE CAMPUS

In the second day of Spring Carnival 2015, enthral of the students at Female Campus International Islamic University continued.

In the continuation to entice the students’ participation” English Debate and Hinna “competitions were organized by the Department of English and Bio Informatics and Bio Technology Female Campus respectively. Both the competitions were joined by number of contestants from different departments with full preparation and passion. These competitions are an integral feature of the annual cultural festivities that has been a continuous tradition of the IIU.

The 17 pairs of participants of Hinna competition added a festive ambience to the Carnival activities, which reflect Hinna traditions of Sub-Continent and Islamic world. In this competition, Hina Shehzad and Faryal Ismail from Department of Islamic Art and Architecture clinched first position. The second position was bagged by Aroosa Naz and Zonhar Sherazi from Faculty of Usuluddin while the third prize also went to the Faculty of Usuluddin’s Ambreen Yaqoob and Syeda Hina Razzaq. In an inter-departmental English Debate competition, with the topic being “Where the lamp of your own spirit shines, there let your dwelling be”. The contestants rhetorically articulated in order to reach the zenith of success, however, Iman Aib from English Department got first position, Nida Asif from Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering stood on second while Ayesha Sadiq received third position.

THE SPRING CARNIVAL KICKS OFF AT THE FEMALE CAMPUS

The activities of Spring Carnival 2015 kicked off with full swing with theme” Sky is the Limit“ at Female Campus of the International Islamic University.

The carnival brought numerous curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular and sports activities for its female students. To alive the traditions of IIUI, the events include a wide assortment of competitions this year also, all subscribing to the multivalent creative potentials of the students. The first day of Spring Carnival observed competitions including Urdu declamation contest with topic “Jawanon ko Peeron ka Ustad ker” was organized by the Department of Urdu, in which more than 19 students from different department participated. The competition got full momentum with strong preparation and attendance by audience, with close margin finally Sidra Habib student of Media and Communication clinched first position, while Qamroosh Mughal student of Sharaih and Law declared second and Manahil Raja from Sharaih and Law third respectively.

In view to enhance the aesthetic expression of the students, the dry flower arrangement competition was organized by the Department of Physics, grabbed large number of participation of students and visitors as well.

Zainab Qudsia student of Social Sciences stood top of the victory stand by securing first prize. The second prize went to Ambreen Yaqoob student of Faculty of Usuluddin, while the third prize went to a group of students from the Social Sciences which comprised of Naila Bahtti, Seemab Asgher and Summaira Saeed.

 

IIUI SPRING CARNIVAL: DEPARTMENT OF ISLAMIC ART & ARCHITECTURE STUDIES HOLDS ART EXHIBITION

As Spring Carnival gains momentum at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), students showcase their talent in various field. In this connection, an Art Exhibition by the Students of Department of Islamic Art & Architecture Studies was held at Female Campus on Tuesday.

Talented students of BS 2nd batch of the department gifted a series of 06 paintings, showing the art of different dynasties i.e. Umayyad, Abbasids, Fatmids, Seljuks, Ottomans and Subcontinent.

In the exhibition, students exhibited projects made by them during the semesters. Paintings, manuscripts, photography, projects of textile, models of interior designing and architecture were displayed at the exhibition. Pottery and calligraphic paintings were special focus of the activity.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Bashir Khan, Vice President (Academics) as Chief Guest. Director (Female campus) Dr. Samina Malik, Students’ Advisor (Female) Dr. Najeeba Arif, Students’ Advisor (Male) Dr. Abid Masood , Incharge Deptt Islamic Art & Architecture Studies Attia Abrar and Zarar Haider Babary, lecturer deptt. Islamic Art & Architecture Studies were also present at the occasion.

The Spring Carnival at International Islamic University Islamabad kicked off with great enthusiasm at male and female campuses separately which was inaugurated by the Vice President Academic IIUI Dr, Bashir Khan. In the first day of the Spring Carnival started its activities with organizing Annual Book Fair and Flower Exhibition at Male campus while Art Exhibition at Female Campus respectively.

Vice President visited Art Exhibition organized by the Department of Islamic Art and Architecture Female Campus. On the occasion Director Female Campus Dr. Samina Malik, Students’ Advisor Female Dr. Najeeba Arif and In-Charge Department Ms Attia Abrar were also accompanied with him.

Later on, Dr. Bashir visited Book Fair and Flower Exhibition at Male Campus where he was joined by Students’ Advisor Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood, Chief Librarian Mr. Sher Nowroz Khan and Dr. Abdul Qadir Haroon.

Dr. Bashir highly appreciated the efforts of students in curricular and extra-curricular activities. He termed these activities a healthy sign in improving the abilities and exposure along with formal study. He said book fairs enhance the reading habits as the books are best companions of man.

The activities of Spring Carnival kicked off with great enthusiasm with number of curricular and co-curricular activates. The students’ participation was tremendous with full excitement and preparation with passion of success in different competitions. In first day, competition of Urdu, English debate, Tri Lingual Easy Writing, Story Writing, Quiz, dry flower and fresh flower competition were held in both campuses.
