IMAM MASJID AL-AQSA URGES FOR MUSLIMS’ ROLE TO ENLIVEN PALESTINE MOVEMENT

Tpppppppppppphe education sector can play a vital role for a free Palestine, said Dr. ‘Ikrima bin Saeed Sabri Imam of Masjid al-Aqsa.

Dr. ‘Ikrima bin Saeed, in his address to the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) faculty, called upon on the  Muslims to raise voice at all international forums for a freedom of Palestine and added that Pakistani teaching community  is the one which can disseminate the message that people and government of Pakistan support the Palestine cause.

Dr. ‘Ikrima elaborated different dimensions of Palestine issue while also pointing out the fact that it is the land of Prophets and miracles. The Palestine is the land of miracles and its dearest to all Muslims, he said. The Imam of Masjid al-Aqsa also elucidated the event of the Islamic conquest of Jerusalem, especially the manner in which the rightly guided caliph ‘Umar upheld the sublime Islamic principles of justice and tolerance towards its people.

p2He stressed that Muslims have to play a key role to enliven Palestine movement. He emphasized that teachers should enlighten their students on the cause of al-Quds and Palestine during their class lectures so that they could take up this issue at all world forums with facts and figures.

Dr. ‘Ikrima bin Saeed Sabri also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the government of Pakistan and its people and said that they have always stood by their Palestinian Muslim brothers at every international forum. He opined that Palestine always had political, moral, and diplomatic support from the people and government of Pakistan.
