Department of Environmental Science, Female Campus International Islamic 
University Islamabad launched spring tree plantation drive in Female Campus IIUI which was inaugurated by Dr. Ahmad Yousaf Al-Draiweesh, President IIUI.
On the occasion, Dr. Samina Malik Director Female Campus, Dr. Maleeha Asama, Chairperson Department of Environmental Science (female), Chairpersons of Faculty of Basic & Applied Sciences, staff members of Department of Environmental Science and students of the department participated. Dr. Al-Draiweesh planted Fig “Anjeer” plant to start the campaign.
The participants including faculty members also planted different fruit trees in the campus. Dr. Al-Draiweesh in his address emphasized on tree plantation and mentioned the immense benefits of trees.
He urged all participants to plant more and more trees to combat heat waves in coming seasons and to mitigate climate change impacts. President IIUI concluded the activity by appreciating and thanking Dr. Rukhsana Tariq Assistant Professor DES for organizing this event and Dr. Maleeha Asma.
The Director Women campus and all the academic staff,and staff of horticulture dept for their mutual cooperation and support.
