A Higher Education Commission (HEC) team visited International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) to review governance and quality assurance at university, where it also met with IIUI leadership including Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai and President IIUI Dr. Ahmed Yousif-Al-Draiweesh.
HEC team’s visit was made as per directives of Prime Minister of Pakistan who has desired that an HEC team should visit all degree awarding institutions to check good governance and quality assurance in Universities of Pakistan.
During the meeting between IIUI leadership and HEC team, issues and challenges faced by the University and procedures adopted by IIUI for offering quality of education were discussed. HEC team expressed satisfaction that IIUI is a multi-cultural university and it is providing equal opportunity and facilities to the male and female students with distinction of separate campuses.
On the occasion, a detail presentation was given by Director QEC regarding procedures of IIUI and its governance which was attended by Vice President (Academics), Vice President (HS&R) and all director.
Later, the HEC team checked all the relevant record and report of IIUI regarding governance including BoG, Academic Council, Selection Boards and appreciated the policies of IIUI.
They also shared some points for further improvements f IIUI policies upon which Rector & President IIUI assured that identified points will be implemented on priority basis.
