Introduction

FETEX comprises of different academic and talent based competitions. The format of these events is being derived from similar kind of events organized by various engineering institutions around the country. Apart from teams from our departments many teams mostly from Islamabad/Rawalpindi also participate in this event.

This event provides an opportunity to students from various universities to test their skills learned at their institution. It also serves to explore the academic talent among the students. The event and its various competitions are designed as such that almost all levels of students can participate in this event.

Events Description

This event comprises of different academic and talent based competitions. The list of the competitions is as follows:

• Robo Race
• Robo War
• Quiz competition
• Speed wiring competition
• Digital logic competition
• Micro-controller Interfacing
• Speed programming competition
• Gaming competition (Indoor & E-gaming)
• Presentation Skills Competition
• Sketching & Snap shot Competition
• Treasure hunt

ROBO Race

Teams from various universities will participate in this event with their designed autonomous Robots under the given limitations provided by the organizers. This event comprises of two rounds:

1. Qualifying Round: In this round, best five teams will qualify for the next round.

2. Final Round: Three teams will compete against each other for the top position.

Distribution of rounds can change according to the number of registered teams.

• All members will be awarded Participation certificates+ shields(per team)

ROBO War

Teams from various universities will participate in this event with their designed Robots under the given limitations provided by the organizers Event comprises of knock-out session.

• All members will be awarded Participation certificates+ shields(per team)

Quiz Competition

The participant will be tested from different courses which include Engineering Physics, Programming (C++), BEE, Computer Networks, Electronics, Digital Communication and Embedded Systems. It comprises of 2 sessions:

First session: For Batch F11 & F12
Topics: Engineering Physics, C++, BEE and Speed IQ

Second session: For Batch F10 & F09
Topics: Computer Networks, Electronics, Communication, Embedded Systems and Speed IQ

Rules:

1. Time (30 Seconds) For Each Question
2. First Answer Is Last
3. Separate Question For Each Team
4. Max Three Members Per Team
5. Decisions of Judges Panel will Be Final.

Prize: Cash+shield+ certificates.

Speed Wiring

This competition is all about completing circuits in given time. This will check the hardware skills of the students.

Rules:

1. Breadboard
2. Apparatus will be provided
3. Max 2 members per group
4. Marking will be based on:
   • First Submission
   • Working Circuit
   • Hardware Finishing

Prize: Cash+shield+ certificates

Digital Logic Competition

This competition is all about designing the circuit using digital logics in the given time

Rules:-

1. Task will have to be finished in time
2. Circuits Should Be Working For Maximum Marks
3. Marking Will Be On First Completion, Circuit Working Basis
4. Apparatus Will Be Provided

Prize: Cash+shield+ certificates.

Micro-controller Interfacing Competition

This competition is all about finding the solution of given problem using microcontroller in the given time. It will be a simulation based competition.

Rules:

1. Maximum two members per team.
2. Simulation must be working.
3. Marking will be on First Completion.
4. Decision of judges will be final.

Prize: Cash+shield+ certificates

Programming Competition

This competition is the test of the fast C/C++ programming skill.

Rules:-

1. Max 2 members each team
2. No helping material except MSDN
3. Score will base upon

1. First submission
2. Code working
3. Best logic

Gaming Competition

• Counter Strike 1.6
• NFS-MW
• DOTA-War Craft 3(Frozen Thrown)
• FIFA 2009
• MOHA
• CNC Generalz- (ZERO HOUR)
• TEKKEN.

Rules:-

1. Standard rules per game
2. Max 4 members in team-type gaming.

Prize: Cash+shield+ certificates.

Indoor Gaming Competition

In this competition the participants would compete against each other in different games.

Rules will be described for each game on spot.

Prize: Cash+shield+ certificates.

Sketching, Snap Shot & Video making Competition

This competition is the test of the Sketching, Snapshot & video making skills.
Rules:

1. Max 1 Participant
2. Signed Chart papers would be provided, and participants would be given a specific time to complete with their painting, or sketching
3. Results would be finalized by supervisors.

Prize: cash+shield+ certificates.

PRESENTATION SKILL COMPETITION

This competition is to test the presentation skills on a certain topic given by the judges.
Rules:

1. Min 1 participant in a team.
2. Max 3 participant in a team.
3. Topics would be given and presenter has to complete his presentation within time limit.
4. Results would be finalized by supervisors.

Prize: Cash+shield+ certificates.

Treasure Hunt Competition

In this competition teams will be given a task that should be completed in time.
RULES:

• 3-5 persons per team.
• The given task should be completed in the given time
• Judges decision is final.
