Executive Development
Centre (EDC)
|
|
|
| All the
reputed business schools run their certificate/diploma
courses for the improvement in the professional
learning and enhancing the skills and capabilities
of business executives which not only help to improve
the image of academic programs but also build the
long term relationship with the trade and industrial
sector. In order to play a significant role in this
direction, International Islamic University Islamabad
has established an executive unit under the name
of Executive Development Center (EDC) in the Faculty
of Management Sciences (FMS), a training unit to
make a measurable impact on the personnel effectiveness
and corporate development in public and private
sectors. |
| The goal
of EDC is to promote professional management culture
in Pakistan by conducting training programs and
management courses in public and private forums,
participating and initiating public debate through
workshop and seminars. The allied objective of this
centre is to integrate the faculty member’s professionalism
for the greater interest of the corporate sector.
Hence a larger number of faculty members have been
involved in conducting professional training and
seminars. |

Workshop “Management Skills for Supervisors” |
Supervisors
are the most vital link between management and the
people. Whatever the nature of business is, the
role of supervisor is to execute management policies.
Thus efforts of supervisory management determine
the organizational productivity. Supervisors represent
management to the worker and to the customer but
some times they are neither clearly part of management
nor can be considered part of workers which cause
their least involvement in the management process
thus making the business enterprise a low performing
entity.
The International Islamic University, Islamabad
keeping in view the real life issues and problems
of supervisors has designed a two day training course
“Management Skills for Supervisors”. This intensive
training activity will enable the participants to
learn who to deal with their existing as well as
potential problems in a most professional way. |
