Prof. Dr. Muhammad Munir, PhD is Vice President (Administration, Finance, and Planning) at the International Islamic University, Islamabad. He is also Director General Shariah Academy, and Professor of Law at the Department of Law at the same University. He is winner of Higher Education Commission’s (Government of Pakistan) Best University Teacher Award for the year 2003 and Outstanding Research Paper Award for the year 2005-2006 and 2011. He is jurist-consult for the Federal Shariat Court in Pakistan and is requested by the Court to give his opinions on important cases. He has been Chairman Department of Law, Faculty of Sharih & Law, IIUI. He has done many national and international projects including: translation of three books on Islamic law and the laws of war from Arabic into Urdu for the ICRC; The World Justice Project: Rule of Law Index, 2012-2013; Realisation of the Human Right to Water and Sanitation by WaterLex; and Child Protection in Islam for ISG and International Relief Works (IRW). He has supervised more than 50 LLM students so far.
